We were here with a Resort Pass room for the day. Late flight home from our cruise. Very nice staff at the first taxi drop off area, held our luggage till our room was ready. Check in person was supposed to give us a courtesy key card to access the pool and restrooms. that caused us a bit of trouble but other employees unlocked things for us. Desk personnel need better directions to help ResortPass customers. Room was very nice, clean, comfy beds to we could nap before the red eye flight home. The Hawaii Hiker Grill attached to this property is so great. Delicious fresh ingredients, nice owner and fast service. Highly recommend.
We were here for 3 nights. I liked the location; it is walkable to some restaurants and shops, and fairly close to other resorts and the Hilton Hawaiian Village which has lots of places to eat and shop (but I’m so glad we did not stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village- so extremely crowded!). It’s walkable to the beach; however it is at least 1/2 mile away. We had a larger, corner room (not a suite) on an upper floor and the city views were amazing! The hotel is older so some things look a little dated, but the room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping staff were awesome, checking in with us everyday to clean the room if we wanted, or to make sure we had what we needed. The elevators are not particularly large and at certain times were a little slow, but it was not an issue for us during our stay. We did not use the pool. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, but we liked the Hiking Hawaii cafe next door. I know every hotel in Waikiki charges resort fees; the fee for this hotel did not provide amenities of value to us, but that’s just how it is. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Positive: Staff was great - good communications Negative: The air conditioning/fan was a bit loud. Also am allergic to down pillows and it was late so I didn’t call about them
Had an absolute blast staying here. Room service was on point and had the room to my liking every day. Customer service was amazing! Jung Min and Reynold were both great people and took care of me. Jung helped me get into the room early working with my flight schedule. Reynold was great with helping me navigate the area and find activities that were fun and cost effective. I look forward to staying here again later in the year.
Attended for work, rooms were very clean. The valet are really nice along with all of the staff of the hotel. It’s located in a very good location to walk to the nearby beaches, mall, and Waikiki strip.
Hilton Double Tree - Honolulu Waikiki WIFI continually dropping out - then handed a paper with their service provider for you to call and work it out with them. I don’t work for Hilton, do your own work and not pass your duty onto the guests! Took two phone calls with the latter advising of the above then they sent someone to resolve. Towels - I booked 4 x double rooms with Queen beds for 11 guests. Queen beds in each room and only supplied with two towels-continually had to request extra towels (4 per room is what was required - 1 per guest). One of the rooms only had hand towels, the guest rang reception twice to request, it took so long she took a shower and dried with one small hand towel! Attached is an example of the age and quality of the towels. Against the light you can easily see the thread count is super thin and almost transparent, notwithstanding the frayed edges. Hilton is known for quality, this isn’t. Gym - Firstly, no sweat towels were available, very unsanitary. Secondly, the hand sanitiser was completely dry to the extent I doubt it’s been refilled in months, very unhygienic! Pool - During swimming in the pool, one of my party while swimming discovered a used blood stained female sanitary pad floating in the water, disgustingly unsanitary! There’s a strong smell of dampness and mildew in all hallways and the rooms. I raised the above with the hotel manager, only to met with sorry. No offer to attempt to make our stay more comfortable apart from extra towels 🤦♂️🤷♂️ I will never re-visit this over priced hotel, this hotel is an embarrassment to the Hilton brand
The room is clean, comfortable, and well-kept. The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which is a nice touch. The room includes two beds and a balcony with a solid view—one side faces the ocean, the other the city. The city view is better than expected and doesn’t feel like a downgrade. In-room amenities are solid: a Keurig, small refrigerator, iron and ironing board, and a small safe. The TV is a good size, but channel selection is mostly limited to local stations. Storage is a mixed bag—the drawers are fairly small and not ideal for unpacking, but the closet provides good hanging space. The hotel has four elevators, and wait times are short, even during busier periods. Staff have been consistently friendly and professional, which makes a noticeable difference in the overall experience. Breakfast is not included with the stay. Hilton members can choose to either earn points or apply their membership benefits toward discounted food and beverages on property, which helps offset costs if you plan to eat at the hotel. Fitness Center The hotel has a gym located on Level M. It includes treadmills, ellipticals, a Peloton bike, free-weight benches, dumbbells, and a cable machine. It’s perfectly fine for cardio and light-to-moderate lifting, but if you’re looking to lift heavy, this isn’t the place. One downside is water access—there aren’t many water fountains. The only refill locations are in the gym and the lower lobby, which feels inconvenient for a hotel of this size. Location is a strong point. The hotel is within easy walking distance of plenty of restaurants and shopping. That said, homelessness in the surrounding area is noticeable and something to be aware of. Overall: Clean rooms, good amenities, friendly staff, fast elevators, and a very walkable location. Minor drawbacks with storage, water access, gym limitations, and included breakfast, but overall a solid stay that delivers what you expect from a DoubleTree.
