I had a 6 hr drive and I like to call before I book a hotel. This voice that picked up was welcoming and soothing, her name is Kendra and I tell you her voice was dead on she walked towards me with her running shoes and this great smile. I was sold from that point. She pointed out what was needed and her personal views of restaurants and surrounding areas. The room was great. The breakfast was fresh and cooked to part. My beds was good I had two just in case I needed a different feeling. Overall I had a positive experience! Great job!
The room was good, like a suite with the beds and seating area seperate along with the desk, chair and coffee station with a fridge. We had a little trouble getting the temperature right since it was winter and the heat came out hot. We were able to finally find a temperature that work for us through the night. The Hotel is older and there are some areas in the bathroom that needs some cosmetic work and the water to the shower didn't come out strong since the device you pull up to transfer the water let a lot of water come out of the tub spout. We like staying at the Choice hotels and have been members for several years and we will continue to do so. I know it takes a lot of capital to maintain hotels when there are people constantly using them.
Walking into our room had a musk smell. Our key to our room didn’t work. The room did not have the normal items like a coffee maker. The show appeared to have mold that they used caulking to cover it up. Didn’t sleep easy and it was dirty. Breakfast was very limited, eggs and sausage was cold in a warmer holding container. Mold in the dining area on the wall. I would not recommend this place and we refused to stay another night. The website we used says it had an indoor pool but it was out of service. They mentioned it had been out of service for some time. They need the health department called on them.
WiFi is terrible. Room doors/walls are thin. You can hear out in hall. Rooms seemed clean and updated. Bathroom stocked. Good breakfast. Breakfast had hot options and the usual other options.
I travel for work every week and usually spend four nights at a time in hotels, so cleanliness and reviews matter to me. This hotel was clean, comfortable, and met my expectations, and I would stay here again if I’m back in the area. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, which made it easy to grab dinner after a long workday without having to drive far. Overall, a solid and convenient place to stay.
I stayed at Comfort Suites Independence – Kansas City for three nights using Choice Privileges reward points. At check-in, everything appeared fine, and the hotel initially seemed acceptable. During my stay, I experienced several issues that required contacting the front desk multiple times. After the first night, I needed to be moved to another room due to a problem in the original room. Staff assisted with the room change, which I appreciated. On the second morning, there was no hot water available. The front desk acknowledged the issue and moved me to a third room. On the following morning, there was no water available at all, which again required assistance from staff. Because of the repeated room changes and the lack of consistent basic amenities over consecutive days, I requested a refund of the reward points used for the stay. That request was declined. While I understand that maintenance issues can happen, experiencing multiple disruptions during a short stay made this visit challenging. Future guests may want to confirm room conditions and amenities in advance. After the first night, the room change was related to a cleanliness concern involving an insect observed in the bedding, which I reported immediately to staff. The issue was documented during my stay, but no adjustment or compensation was provided beyond relocating rooms.
A few of my buddies and I got a room here after the Nebraska-Cincinnati game at Arrowhead in August. While the check-in process was easy and the service was fine, our room REEKED of stale cigarettes. It was so bad that it made my eyes water. It never got better, even after putting the A/C on full blast and opening the window. We were not able to switch rooms, and received no empathy from the management when we brought this issue to their attention. Other guests were taking about how bad their room smelled, too, when we talked about it during breakfast. Below average hotel, at best. The room was kinda gross. I was glad I didn’t have to shower.
