Silver Heart Inn & Cottages

We had a fantastic experience at this very accommodating B&B. The home has character. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy! Charles was an incredible host. He communicated with us throughout our stay to assure our needs were being met and we knew where we were going in the area. We loved the Truman experience and historic Independence. The food was delicious! It was a great value for a very memorable experience. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Independence.

Our stay at silver heart was absolutely amazing. The owner went above and beyond for our stay and we can not thank him and the staff enough. Everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. The food was delicious (homemade food makes everything so much more homey) and the room was immaculate! We could not recommend a better place to stay at in Kansas City. We will be retuning.

Great stay. Mr. Charles was an amazing host. He was always available when we need to reach out. Good location. The cottage was the best. Included all we needed for entertainment, laundry, and cooking. We Loved the hottub, king size bed, and the fire pit 🔥. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Excellent experience. We’ll definitely be back! We stayed in the legend of Asia room, which is absolutely beautiful with the four poster canopy bed and fireplace. It was very cozy and romantic. The breakfast was delicious. We especially enjoyed the hot tub which is a nice touch to have on site. Charles is an excellent host and very friendly. We had such a great time. This is a place we will definitely come back to!

It's almost difficult to put into words the difference in what I expected from this place vs. what we got in actuality. I expected a tiny shack that was likely to leave me disappointed and wishing I had gone the traditional hotel route. I however was willing to take a gamble on this place as I was looking for a different experience than what we normally get when traveling out of state. First off let's talk about the unit itself. We went the route of renting the bungalow. It's a little bigger than your traditional large room hotel as a whole, but it's literally a tiny home. You've got a kitchen living room bedroom and bathroom that are all separate areas and not just chaotically thrown together. You've got a small laundry area which while we didn't use would definitely come in handy on a longer stay. The bed was cozy and pretty perfect in every way. Then let's get to the breakfast part. When I tell you I'd spend $100 on this breakfast I'm not even exaggerating in the slightest. Farm fresh ingredients and true honest love for what he's putting into his meals are both abundant and clearly not an accident. Everything he does to run this place is done with purpose, care, and love. I will stay here every single time I'm in the area without hesitation. I will tell everyone I know about this place. I've never been this impressed with an establishment anywhere in my life.

SUCH a charming bed and breakfast! Best-in-class hospitality in a beautiful historic building. The sheets and robes are silky smooth, the decor is stunning, breakfast is delicious, and the hot tub is a cherry on top. Love this place!

Beautiful home built in 1856. We stayed in the Legend of Asia room which was beautifully decorated, very clean, & had a comfortable bed. The breakfast each morning was delicious & the hospitality was superb. Charles is super friendly & accommodating and Cat is very sweet. We highly recommend!
