We booked The Strat through Redtag and our hotel voucher said our resort fees were 32 99 per night. Upon arrival to the hotel we were told they were 49.99 usd a night- with the exchange rate this is a ludacris amount of money and feels like a money grab or hidden fee - we didn't use any of the resort amenities and the pool was closed... And then there was anothet 93.00 Cndn charge to my card and when I called them they said it was a system glitch- however it will take 5-7 business days to correct this. I would prefer the hotels roll the resort fee directly into the room cost or charge if you actually use the amenities. I think this information is important for Canadians who are told one thing at booking and charged 50% more. The rooms - we had no issues with our room- we did an upgrade upon arrival. Our room was spacious, it was clean, beautiful view of the mountains and the bed was very comfortable. The TV frequently didnt work and we couldn't access the free wi-fi. The Strat itself is very clean. The location is a bit sketchy. Lots of unfocused people and people clearly struggling with addiction or mental health - there were a few scenes on the walk to the bus stop or toward the strip that felt unsafe - I think this piece is impprtant for people to be aware of when booking there. All in all we enjoyed the room and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel but the unexpected fees left a sour taste.
I have stayed at the strap several times since they started renovating their rooms. I always have great experiences with the staff. The rooms are always clean although I’ve only ever stayed in the select tower. I can’t comment on the other towers. I recommend reserving straight from their website because you get a daily food credit and tickets to go up to the observatory deck. As far as the safety of the area, I never go out at night anyway and I take Ubers when I do go anywhere. There is a bus stop right outside, which makes it so convenient if you want to get a bus pass. There is a Denny’s walking distance and an IHOP in walking distance and a McDonald’s in the hotel.
This was one of the the most disappointing hotels I have stayed in. The room was booked and prepaid online using a popular travel site. During check-in, the room that was booked did not have the amenities on the booking. We would need to pay for one of the upgraded rooms which was an extra $50 per night. Add on the resort fee and I have now doubleed the cost of the room. They have pictures in the elevator of the new upgraded rooms. Ours looked nothing like the picture. It looked like it had not been updated since the mid 80s, save the shower which looked newer. The bathroom had a very strong odor of weed. The mattress had not been replaced since the hotel opened. There were so many flat spots, I could have slept on the floor and been more comfortable if I thought it was clean enough. On top of this, parking was not included or discontinued for hotel guests. I will not be returning to the Strat.
We checked into the Stratosphere on 24 January. We were offered an upgrade for $35 a night we took. we went to our room. The room was 80° and the thermostat was broken, we could not turn it down. We tried to call the front desk, but the phone between the two beds was broken and did not work. We tried to turn the TV on and it did not work for us either. We were working at the Furniture market, we were not there for fun! I use my cell phone to get help, but nobody ever showed up. We tried to sleep. It was excruciating the next morning we got up and had no hot water. We showered in the cold. We looked forward to coming home and having everything repaired we had no housekeeping we had no clean towels. We had a hot room. We had cold showers. We did this for three nights continually asking for assistance. Nothing came of it. The reason I gave it a one star is because the bed was comfortable. We will not be going back. Years ago, it was a wonderful place to stay. Something has gone seriously seriously wrong.
We stayed at the STRAT for New Year’s, and overall it was a very comfortable and pleasant experience. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, giving us plenty of room to relax after long days out on the Strip. One thing we really appreciated was the self-check-in kiosks. The process was quick and efficient, and we didn’t have to wait at all. It easily saved us 30–40 minutes, which is pretty typical at large casino hotels (especially around New Year’s) so that was a big plus and helped us start our trip stress-free. The hotel’s location is another thing to note. Since it’s the first hotel on the Strip (Northside), it’s a bit far from the main hustle and bustle. The upside is that it feels calmer and less chaotic, but the trade-off is a 30-40 minute walk to reach the more happening areas of the Strip. Depending on your plans, this can either be a peaceful bonus or something to plan around. Parking was plentiful and convenient, though it does come at an additional cost of $20 per day. Overall, considering the comfort, cleanliness, and smooth check-in experience, especially during a busy holiday, it was a good value for the price we paid.
We stayed at The Strat for a week. A few key things off the bat: Julisa, at the front desk, was absolutely amazing. We have a complicated set of reservations and she was able to make things as easy as possible for us. She kept us in the same room the whole time, even though the reservations didn’t require that. Tanisha (supervisor) at the front desk, was lovely to resolve a problem we were having with the parking lot app and to ensure everything was charged correctly (combining personal travel with work travel complicated everything!). I know that our situation was complicated but they ever acted as if it was. Also Jay at the box office - was great to offer tips to us and explain what discounts were available by being Strat guests. We would have missed some things if he hadn’t. Our maid service worked like ninjas. We don’t know when they came in the room, but we would randomly have all of our trashes emptied, fresh towels, bed made, etc.. all without ever touching our personal items Across the board, the hospitality was top notch. We liked it was slightly removed from the strip. Other Pros: The rooftop rides!! real blankets on the bed (I hate when hotels give you sheets as a bedspread) Plenty of towels and washcloths Quick turn over maid service Tons to do in the hotel itself Comedy club- that was a freaking blast Onsite parking Loved the views Hot, hot water and kick ass pressure The property itself is well secured with security being present but not overwhelming (comfortable enough that my overly worried fiancé wasn’t concerned with me walking around alone) Penny slots are a fun way to gamble without stressing a big loss- can play on $20 for a while Cons: some of areas are dated Shower had that weird half- wall thing and I hated that The heater/fan cycled constantly, like every few minutes. The Strat TV channel that replays the same song endlessly was so annoying A few more channels would be great for winding down at night. Room was small. Bathroom lights need to be brighter No microwave in the room (we knew that ahead of time, but it was still annoying).
Please if you can, avoid this hotel. I have had such a poor experience with the staff. I took a renovated room and paid extra for the service. The room is still dirty, dusty, old air conditioners that make plenty of noise, bed almost loose and about the break and everything old. They just tagged it as renovated. Also, I am an easy customer where I do not ask for much cleaning except, for clearing out the dustbins and since I had the queen beds asked to make one bed. This is with multiple reminders to clean my room. I generally don’t ask for house keeping services but from a hygiene purpose they atleast need to clear out the bins. They are charging heavy in the name of renovation and elevated room. Though I was away from the room, housekeeping did not clean the room and later when I returned and reminded for the service again, I was told I will not be serviced (taking out the waste) until I leave the room again. I returned to the room because I wasn’t keeping well. Constant reminders and them coming up with lame excuses and on the third day after 4 different reminders, I gave up. The hotel overall is also a disappointment. The lobby is smelling of smoke all the time and the observatory deck experience is also very underwhelming. Most of the coffee shops also close by 2pm. There is not one thing that was a wow factor. The fact that I need to beg everyday for them to maintain hygiene and give the customer a good room experience in general, shows their intent to serve customers well. Please don’t let your stay ruin your vacation. If you want a stress free experience, please avoid this place. Have a better experience elsewhere.
