The Brown Hotel

Loved our stay here! I didn't want to leave. The common areas on the first few floors are gorgeous. The ceiling is amazing in the lobby. The Lobby Bar was great. Had a good selection of quality drinks and whiskies. The hot brown was delicious. Room was very comfortable. All the staff were great. I do wish we had a bathtub in our room so I could've luxuriated a little more, but that's nitpicking. Valet had our car ready for checkout before we asked for it. Location is very central. Highly recommend. We will be back our next time in Louisville.

This place is absolutely gorgeous!! Hubby and I came into town to watch Gary Owen. We loved the atmosphere and all of the employees. They were so wonderful and sweet. Staying here put us really close to everything within walking distance. The bar at the hotel is phenomenal. I forget her name but the bartender was aaaaamazing! The chef even came out to introduce himself. Top notch service!! You will not be disappointed in anything!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Brown Hotel. I love the history behind the building and the charm and care put into the decor and vibe. I would like to give a special shout-out to Doug, the bellhop, who was PHENOMENAL! He gave our group the best recommendations about where to go, from shopping to dining to drinking to historical spots. He went above and beyond at all times and remembered us/all guests. We did have a small hiccup at check-in, to no fault of theirs an Kerrise helped us solve it quickly and was incredibly accommodating while we worked things out.

Positive: What a beautiful hotel and lovely location! Excellent staff and very attentive. Negative: The quality of the pillows did not match the rest of the quality of the hotel!

What you'd expect elegant, over the top, old school hotel. A step back to the way it was and wish it still was. Staff are courteous, attentive and service oriented. Bar is excellent and cocktails to match. My only criticism is the place feels a little tired and needs a refresh. A bit of spit and polish wouldn't hurt to give the old gal her due.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but my experience at The Brown Hotel absolutely deserved one. After a long day of travel, my flight was unexpectedly cancelled and I found myself frustrated, tired, and trying to figure out what came next. What started off as a really bad situation turned into a great one—thanks entirely to the incredible staff at The Brown Hotel especially Destiny for getting me all checked in. From the moment I walked in, the team greeted me with genuine care, calmness, and professionalism. They didn’t just check me in… they checked on me. Every question I had was met with patience. Every concern I raised was met with a solution. It felt like they weren’t just doing a job—they were determined to make sure I felt taken care of. The room was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was comforting, but what truly stood out was the hospitality. They transformed what could’ve been a stressful overnight stay into a moment of rest, kindness, and unexpectedly great memories. To the entire staff: thank you. You made an unpredictable, chaotic travel day end with peace. I was blown away by the level of customer service and the way you made everything feel effortless and welcoming.

First time staying here and it was an absolute pleasure! The entire staff was kind, courteous and remained unintrusive during the entire stay. The valet was quick and prompt. As well as room service. Dinning at the restaurant was an enjoyment all of its own. The first time in a long time have I been to a restaurant that still services you a glass of water before taking any food or beverages orders! If you want the original proprietor a.k.a. inventor of the hott brown then it's origin is the only one you need consider. All others are knock off Wana be compared to this perfectly season and absolutely exquisite turkey dinner! It will truly take something other worldly to compete with this signature dish. I've had the hot brown all my life at various places but this is the soul of the meal and should be had before any other imitations or variances on the dish!
