The Galt House Hotel

Positive: Large, comfortable room with great amenities and lots of on-site restaurants and bars, plus fantastic location and amazing staff. Negative: Water pressure for shower was disappointing. Staff at check out noted that they are aware and doing replacements / upgrades to their (boilers?). Wayfinding signage in the parking ramp could be improved. It was particularly difficult to find the exit.

The hotel is incredibly well maintained for being as old as it is and is in a perfect location to walk around and explore. The staff is incredible at the front desk and the elevators are fast. The restaurants and food are open early and late so it’s easy to not be hungry. There were only two issues. The bed is hard as a rock and offers no support, and the pillows feel like sleeping on rubber.

Great location. The staff were very helpful and attentive. By far the best breakfast. So many choices and good quality food. The room was small and definitely outdated. A mini coffee maker would make up for it. The room did have a comfortable bed and mini fridge. So many landmarks within walking distance.

The staff were exceptional and the cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable. It’s very nice without being overly fancy. For the price and view, it’s absolutely worth the money. Parking on-site in their garage is very close to any other garage or lot in town and includes in & out privileges. Just park here and save yourself the time. Will stay here again for sure based on staff and cleanliness. Also, the rooms and lobby have been renovated and offer a nice modern feel for a great price.

We stayed for a concert at the yum center. We showed up and our room wasn’t ready. They offered us another room for half price. Everything was clean and cozy. The Valet was amazing. It was extremely busy and they were jogging around to get to cars, very polite, and got to us fast. Highly recommended this valet service!

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The lobby, elevators, and rooms were spotless. There is a bit of wear and tear on hall carpet and paint, but the rooms are kept updated and in excellent condition. TVs, iron, Keurig, fridges, and bathroom fixtures all are updated to new. The beds are comfortable and towels large and soft. We were very satisfied with our stay. 5-stars!

I had a great overall stay at The Galt House and truly enjoyed the experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and lives up to its grand, historic reputation. The convenience of having multiple dining options on-site, including Swizzle, was a huge plus and made the stay feel seamless and luxurious without ever needing to leave the property. The room, valet service, and overall atmosphere were all consistent with what I would expect from a high-end hotel. The spa was lovely in terms of ambiance and service, and the experience itself was relaxing and well done. However, the cost-to-time ratio felt slightly off. While they clearly advertise 50- and 80-minute sessions, the pricing is on the higher end, and for that level of cost, I would typically expect the more standard 60–90 minute format that many spas follow. Ten minutes may not sound like much, but at that price point, it does feel noticeable. I completely understand the need for time between appointments for cleaning and preparation, but ideally that buffer time shouldn’t come at the expense of the client’s session length. For a property as upscale and polished as The Galt House — with luxury rooms, rooftop dining, and full-service amenities — I would expect the spa experience to feel equally aligned in value and timing. That said, the spa itself was still enjoyable and professionally run. Overall, the stay was wonderful, convenient, and comfortable, and I would absolutely return. Just something to consider if you are comparing spa pricing and session lengths.
