La Copa Hotel

Booked through booking.com for two nights 4/18-4/20. I arrived, checked in and got my keys. Went to the room and took one look in the room and the bathroom and Immediately went back to the front counter. I told the person at the counter that it smelled heavy of humidity and there was black mold inside the bathroom and requested to cancel. They refused to cancel because I had booked through booking.com. I left, booked at a different hotel in Mcallen and requested a cancellation through booking.com. who then sent a cancellation request to La Copa Hotel, which they have up till now completely ignored. Terrible experience, do not recommend.

For those not expecting upscale accomodations, this could be a good value in McAllen for you. And it is adjacent to the La Plaza Mall. The place is a little tired, especially the exterior and the area for the morning breakfast. Outside, reminds me of a Holiday Inn from 20 to 30 years ago--and it could have been.||But the rooms are well furnished with good beds and furniture as well ,with coffee maker, microwave and fridge. The bathrooms are clean but in need of updating. A bit more attention needs to be paid to cleaning the exterior halls. Some debris and paper cups stayed there , next to my room, for two days.||Also, dont expect much from the free breakfast. Minimal selection of do it yourself waffles, toast and cereal. Choice of juices but they were out of two of them all the time I was there.||The best feature here may well be the staff. All I encountered were very friendly and helpful---especially the young ladies at the front desk. They were often overworked but never failed to be helpful and polite.

My bad experience. We were in the pool, my wife, my 2 daughters and I. We were playing and it turns out that the employees got upset and came out to say that we should stop , that if not, he would speak to the police. Very bad experience. You go out with your family to enjoy yourself and you are not doing anything wrong and they ruin your experience. Very disappointing. I do not recommend it. We will not return here. It is better if we go back to the usual hotel. 👎👎👎👎👎

Very friendly front desk. Just 15mins walk from airport. Have a food court behind the hotel, 3mins walk.Good.

The hotel is good, but the service of the worst that has touched me in the Valley every Saturday I rent a hotel in Mcallen and today I decided this one but honestly I never rent here again at 6:30 and Mr. Barbon went out to say that we can not make noise when the ones who are playing are my daughters in the Pool, I understand if it was already night, but it is still early and I still threaten to talk to the police when we are not doing anything wrong, I would honestly not recommend this hotel for the super bad. Service

I wish I could call the property directly and speak to someone actually in charge, I was lied to about a cancellation fee being waved because this property did not have any hot water. Mind you I was traveling with my 2 small children, how on earth could I have followed through with our stay if there was no hot water! Anyways I had already paid for the stay and I went through Expedia, so because I wanted to cancel my reservation the person I spoke to on the phone, a man, had said the property was waiving all cancellation fees because of their issue with the hot water and I was told to get in contact with Expedia if I wanted a refund. Well, they couldn't refund me because Expedia could NOT get the approval from the property! This is ridiculous. Never again will I attempt to book or reserve with this property!

This place is not right! Find somewhere else, run! Windows don't lock, they don't care nor give another room. Wantwd toncha4ge $60 cleaning fee? No refund! Called police for a police report if case something happened! Manager in hiding! Slum Lords! Took pictures too. Door extra lock missing part?! Super safe, outstanding service! Is it my fault maybe?
