Texas Inn McAllen

It a good hotel good prices until this last weekend they had one room and where trying to rent to me $ 250.00 just cause it was there last room that is so wrong they priced so high. When there room are around $80.00 that just beening so greedy I won't be renting there anymore.

Although the location is called "McAllen Airport", it's definitely outside of McAllen proper, in an area dominated by warehouses. The room was clean. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Pool was dirty, my girlfriend wanted to swim so we went down to the pool and once we saw it we said forget that! The "breakfast included" part was a terrible joke. The room that breakfast was served in was no bigger (maybe smaller) than the standard nightly hotel room and only had a few small tables. Coffee/juice, toast, and a single waffle maker. That's it. No bananas or fruit. If you want to eat, there's a good chance you will have to eat breakfast standing up next to the food counters in the way of everyone as there are only a few tables in this small room (and *plenty* of hotel guests). If you want a waffle, plan on *standing in line* for a good twenty minutes or more per trip to the waffle machine until it is your turn to make a waffle. Ridiculous. The good points about this hotel was that it was clean and about as inexpensive as you can find, but honestly if you are willing to pay 10 more dollars a night you can get hotels literally twice as nice as this place (Which I did every night after the night I stayed here). But it beats sleeping in your car during the hot months if you truly don't have those 10 extra dollars...

Good location if using rideshare, clean room and helpful friendly front desk. There is a gas station nearby with a shop. Good for short stay if early flight oit.

The front desk clerk is completely rude and wouldn't answer any of my questions. Then had the nerve to hang up on me don't waste your breathe

The owner is the most unprofessional guy. My check out was at 11:00 am and after having issues with Hotel Tonight at 3:30 am the guy comes and wakes me up at 10:00 am. The room is not worth more than $50. Very old hotel and the place looks pretty beat up.

As soon as you walked into the room there was a very strong mold smell. Very short after there where 2 small roaches at the door and ac area. It got worse when I checked the bed, pillows where very stinky,like they where never changed before. Sheets had few stains and someone else's hair on it. It definitely lacks cleaning and bed sheets doesn't look they get changed. Price wise it was affordable but I've been into much cleaner hotels for same or less.

The staff was very nice, very helpful and very attentive. We stayed in the honeymoon suite with the jetted tub and it was amazing! The light switch behind the microwave changes the colors around the tub and it was so pretty and so relaxing and the jets work beautifully. The only reason I removed one star is because when you look at the photos of the room online, it is fully furnished, but when we got there, there was literally only the bed and a TV and the fridge and microwave. No dresser or comfy chair or desk table or decor. I understand they may have been removed for cleaning or safety, but we had to leave all of our things packed in our bags and on the floor. The shower was great though, it was high pressured and got nice and hot and felt amazing. We will definitely be going back this summer when we visit family again.
