The Rambler

LOVED THIS PLACE! Stayed on a nice quiet Monday in December. The rooms are comfortable and amazing. Sound machine, comfortable bed, quiet, huge tv, Bathrooms were really nice. This place is perfect if you need a place with multiple separate rooms, but still the ease and convenience of a hotel. Super easy check in. Great south main downtown location . Parked right outside. I can’t wait to come back when the pool & hot tub are open, looked awesome!! (it was a very cold night, not sure if they sometimes keep it open in the winter as there was water in both still)

This has a fantastic location and service. They were very accommodating, friendly and easy to contact with any questions.|It was comfortable and large for a family to stay in. We had no issues parking on the road outside.||The building itself was quiet, although noise does carry in the corridors, but the main bedrooms are away from the doors. Exactly as presented, would definitely come again.

This hotel is awesome. The room was huge with a kitchen, bedroom, and full bath. Very modern and well maintained. The pool and hot tub are great. We waffled back and forth on booking based on the inconsistent reviews. I think the problem is most reviews don't mention the day of the week they stayed. We were there on a Monday and it was super chill and quiet. It is a small hotel and is completely remotely managed so no staff on site. I think what happens if that locals have figured this out as a great place to throw a pool party. They can rent one room and bring all their friends for a great party that someone else has to clean up after. So my guess is lots of weekends are loud because of that. The management should figure out a way to address this via enforcement of the policies. They have cameras everywhere so it wouldn't be hard to know when someone is violating the policy. If they said during booking "only two guests per room. No parties. We take a $500 security deposit which will not be refunded if you host a party" I'm guessing it would be a stop to that problem. We are already planning a return trip to Memphis for a couple of days and we'll be sure to stay at The Rambler again if available.

Great place, but they promised and did not provide. Don't stay here for pool hot tub amenities, we only get a cabin for vacation with a jacuzzi and wow, 1st day got this we are working on it, next day closed down indefinitely whattt...can't even use grills. Do not fall for it unless you only want a room, then its great.

Beautiful rooms, great location. Really good place to go if you plan to party all night long. If you're planning to sleep, I highly suggest going somewhere else. There's no management on site. The walls and high ceilings--super thin. During my stay, my upstairs and next door neighbors partied from when they arrived after 4 until my alarm went off at 5 AM. I called the management hotline provided several times but the noise persisted. Management said that they sent out an email to remind guests of quiet hours and attempted to call the other guests but that "no one answered". I intended to pay for a nice place to sleep, but instead I paid to get frustrated, angry, annoyed, and exhausted.

The Rambler is a hidden luxury. Didn’t expect the size and comfort of the room. We are talking about everything you need from dishes to full size refrigerator. Civil Rights museum just steps away. Beale Street 5 minute walk. Downtown 5 minute drive. Plenty of eating, drinking and dining places.

Do not book this hotel. The customer service is the worst I’ve ever received. Don’t get wrapped up in the idea of the beautiful rooms, because they are beautiful, when we had a concern about our safety the support was basically inaccessible. It took 1 hour to even get a response from support and then they ignored me for a further 25 minutes to the point where they said they’d work with booking.com to issue us a refund so we left and went elsewhere (luckily there were some great hotels nearby with availability for the same price). However the next day having left the hotel without using a single thing or even sitting on the bed we were told they’d decided not to issue us a refund. The whole experience was incredibly distressing and ruined our start to Memphis, luckily the hotel we ended up in was beautiful and safe. Do not book here. There are plenty of lovely clean and safe hotels in the area, and plenty of reviews for the rambler staying the obvious safety concerns here. On top of all of this, there isn’t a scrap of noise prevention in the hotel, for 2 hours we sat there trying to get things sorted it was the noisiest I’ve ever known a hotel room to be. I wish I could leave 0 stars.
