Checked in on the evening of March 3rd. Received a very rude treatment. Had to pay the deposit in cash, the woman asked for my PIN code for my debit card, which I refused. She then got upset and after having to deal with two customers, I had to go into the office to key in my code into the card reader. Inside, the rudeness continued and she said "unbelievable" behind my back. When I got my room card I asked for wifi and she pushed a piece of paper up against the window. Did she assume I had paper and pen or a camera ready? Ugh! I'm on vacation here in the US and that was the first rude American I've ever met! The room was clean except for a dirty pillowcase. The bed was very hard and the wifi works if you stand outside.

This is the worst hotel in my experience. After making a reservation online, i arrived at the hotel. Parked and attempted to check in. But no one answered at the window check in. Buzzed the doorbell dozens of times. Called the booking agent which they called to confirm. And no one answered? After all this I asked the agent what should I do He said find another hotel. The property declined my refund. Idk why but I keep calling and keep getting the runaround. Customer service sucks do not ever stay here

Hotel sold my room, said in order to stay there we would have to pay for an 'upgraded' room at double the cost we had already paid. Took an hour of back and forth and Expedia contacting them before they gave us a room without charging us more. They only collect cash deposits, which is fine if their front desk is staffed...it wasn't. When checking out, tried to leave at 7 am. No one there to give back deposit. Waited THREE HOURS before someone showed up to give deposit. Room was ok, was one of the 'upgraded' rooms but the hotel itself was run down. And they had no towels in the room, wasn't until day 3 they finally brought them after asking.

WARNING WARNING Don't ever stay here. took us over 20 minutes to check in. They asked for a 40 dollar cash deposit. They didn't have any housekeeping. towels were dirty. The bedsheets had red stains and the mattress was so dirty it was black. They are not handicap accessible.

Absolutely disgusting. So dirty. Everything, towels were dirty, sheets and blankets, and the bed were dirty. The tub was black. They should be shut down immediately as well as be charged.

We checked in and left within one hour. She required a $20 CASH deposit. This is the first time I've ever had a lodging establishment require cash and will not take credit/debit/check or anything traceable. ||Objectively, this is what we found checking in:||Spoiled food left in microwave|Cat food left in cabinet|Counter top and table, sticky. Other surfaces not wiped down|Freezer was repaired with yellow tape|Shower still has hair in the tub. There are questionable stains in the tub. The shower handle I loose and is about to come off|Bed pillows are stained|Bed linens are stains|There is no cutlery, pots, pans, or plates to use for the kitchenette ||The property owner scolded us for keeping the air conditioning. She barged through the front door and I quote, "… electricity is expensive. Keep the door shut when you're using the air conditioning m**er f**ers". Mind you, I opened the door to pick up more luggage from our car in the parking lot.||Lastly, when I started to record her for her conduct, she began to lie stating the house keeping told me to turn down the A/C and I slammed the door in her face and she's going to call the cops to arrest us and charge us $1500 for A/C repairs. ||I'm sure everyone knows how a customer should be treated so I will not state the obvious. I'm warning everyone to stay away from this hotel. ||See photos and videos. I should have taken more photos but was shocked and caught off guard when she barged into our room.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Del Rio Lodge isn’t a hotel — it’s a health hazard with a nightly rate, and somehow they have the audacity to charge premium prices for it. We paid almost $300 for two nights, and before we even saw the room they demanded a $40 deposit. For what? Because nothing in that room suggested they invested even $4 into cleanliness, maintenance, or basic human decency. The bedding was the first red flag — and by "red flag," I mean biohazard warning. The pillowcase had what looked like mold on it. When we took it off, there was a blood stain underneath. I don’t know who thought that was acceptable to leave for the next guest, but I genuinely felt nauseous. We had to leave the room just so I could get fresh air before I threw up. That’s how bad it was. Then the bathroom… Hair in the tub. Stained towels. Mold or mildew creeping along the seams. Walls with splatter marks. Corners that haven’t seen a cleaning product since the early 2000s. The rest of the room wasn’t any better: - Wall damage - Loose cables hanging out - Debris on the furniture - Water‑damage looking marks - A stove covered in grime - An oven with a damaged heating element that looked like it was one spark away from starring in a fire department training video And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, it did. On the way back from trying to get food (because again, I was genuinely nauseous from the room), a man who clearly stays at this property approached us and asked where to find meth. I don’t care that it was off the property — that was the moment the camel’s back didn’t just break, it disintegrated. We watched him walk right back into the lodge afterward, brown paper bag and all. At that point, we weren’t just uncomfortable. We didn’t feel safe. And to top it all off? Booking.com refused to refund us, even after we showed them the photos and explained everything. So not only did we get stuck with a room we couldn’t stay in, we got stuck with the bill too. Nothing about this place is sanitary, maintained, or remotely acceptable for paying guests. I wouldn’t recommend this lodge to anyone — not even as a joke. Del Rio Lodge needs a full inspection and a complete overhaul before they should be allowed to host guests again. Until then, stay literally anywhere else.
