I'm relatively local to the area and decided to book this location to stay at following a Mardi Gras Ball due to its history. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Summer. The check-in process was smooth and she took care to make sure to give me any information that I might need as well as to give me a few tidbits of information about the hotel. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and unique. The antique furniture and hardwood floors completed the historic feel of the building. The mattress was very comfortable. We didn't notice any noise from either the outdoors or other rooms. We will DEFINITELY use this hotel again for any local stays!
We had a great experience! We stumbled into this place for New Year’s Eve in Mobile. The history is really interesting and the room took me to a different time. Our room was clean and had a balcony (window that opened, and you could step outside), which added to the charm of this place. It was the perfect break from all the hotels we have stayed at. The staff was excellent. They went above and beyond for us. It was kind of like a trip back in time, with modern amenities like WiFi. I would highly recommend for those looking for something different and filled with charm!
Took the Amtrak train over from New Orleans So I was walking everywhere in Mobile. Malaga was near by. Beautiful property, courtyard beutiful, room was nice. I had a basic reservation, just a room. When I was checking in a mentioned to the staff how I appreciated there booking directly through their them , no hidden fees nonsense that you get nowadays with third party website or corporate hotel chains. Went to my room, set up was nice and realized she upgraded me to a a balcony room. Was nice of her to do that and it didn’t go unnoticed. I would definitely recommend this hotel and the whole Mobile/Amtrak experience I had. I also Recommend the USS Alabama Park, the Maritime Museum. & also Wentzell Oyster Bar for happy hour $12 dozen oysters and $1 pony HighLife(went there both days for dinner because of the oysters, delicious.). So again Big Thanks to Malaga Inn for hosting me and my Mobile experience. Tim
Positive: The room was quiet. The bad was extra comfy. Negative: No
Such a fun, historic property! Perfect place to stay for a true Mobile experience! Amazing staff (shout out to Cathy and team for taking great care of us during Mardi Gras!), excellent location, and super charming spot... We will definitely be back!
Wonderful location and charming courtyard. Definitely needs a DEEP clean and some general maintenance (toilet paper roll was broken off the wall.. easy fix so that's telling). Front desk staff were nice. Has a lot of potential.
What a hidden gem. It grabbed me because of the courtyard. Jordan the owner is friendly and welcoming and if you need anything he is always ready to help. The rooms were very clean, and the bed and pillows very comfortable. It really caputures the charm of the area. I really liked that all the rooms opened to the courtyard, and have rocking chairs on the porch, instead of a chain hotel wall. We came back and enjoyed a bottle of wine in the courtyard around the fountain after dinner. Easy to walk to many places.
