The hotel/resort was beautiful and in great location. We didn't have any heat in the room, so it was FREEZING - it seemed to be the problem to many of the room, but they did rectify it with a space heater. The shower pressure wasn't great, but the overall resort was beautiful, clean and good service.

Fantastic get away retreat. Perfect for thr whole family. Even on the colder days it's nice to be here. Terrell at the main check in was wonderful to work with. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. Rooms are huge! The accommodations here are perfect.

I visited my friends who are staying here and I have to say they have amazing views.Their rooms are spectacular.Everything was clean. My friends say that the bed was super comfortable. The area is safe and fantastic. A group of us which was ten of us because they had six different rooms rented at this hotel went to blum coffee and wine bar at night. For their amazing bar specials for wine, craft beer's ipas, which we all love and we certainly were not disappointed. we heard their coffee was pretty good. But we did go during the evening. The hotel smells amazing inside and we would all definitely come back here. And my friends would definitely stay again. 10 stars

Do yourself a favor and switch to the Embassy Suites up the street. This is the most 2025 review I've ever written but the TVs at this hotel are old and you can't cast or stream anything. It's still channel flipping cable, which doesn't work for us. The Fireplace isn't worth it and the bottom of the jetted tub looked like it was rotting out. We checked out after 10 minutes and switched to the Embassy Suites up the street. I never thought I would do that. The girl at the front desk was nice enough, and said she can refund one night. I'll be writing to management to get a refund on last night, the most expensive of the two. The Embassy Suites is night and day, and the same price if not a bit cheaper. Same Harbor View, Netflix, and room to move! They used a fish eye lens to make the rooms look bigger but it was itty bitty in comparison. I'm usually up an hour or two before my husband and he stays up later, we would have done nothing but annoy each other at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina - "world-class destination offering elegant accommodations, an expansive list of amenities and activities, and a prime waterfront" - 4 star? 2 star at best.

I travel a lot, and the beauty of this place is beyond words. An absolutely unforgettable experience for such a great price. The outdoor hot tub with warm and cold pools is incredible, especially in December. The harbor and bridge views are stunning, with breathtaking sunsets around 5 PM. The staff are exceptionally kind and welcoming, cleanliness is flawless, and the rooms are spacious, elegant, and beautiful. One of the most beautiful resorts in the U.S., without a doubt.

I cannot recommend staying AWAY from booking at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina enough. The only saving point in the hotel was the location, but everything else was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. We had contacted the hotel to book over the phone after having loss a family member that same day. We literally packed as soon as we got home, got in the car without a destination in mind, and made the booking on the road. I had spoken to Andrew and explained that I needed help because of this and that I was not in the right mindset to do it myself and asked how much it’d be, total. After quoting, we gave the card info over the phone and he said we’d get an email for the quote. We never did, but again, I was not in my right state of mind. Once we got there, the first room had issues where the balcony door wouldn’t lock and the fireplace was broken. We called in and requested a new room and they moved us to another room that was located in the corner. It no longer had harbor views although that was what we paid for, but we were tired and just wanted to rest. The new room was not much better. The bathroom and floors were dirty, the fan did not work, the room showed it’s age with cracked moulding throughout the room, the bed-frame creaked, and the decorative pillows smelled. Near the end, the AC/heating unit also stopped working. When we called, they offered to send someone the next morning or move us, but we were nearing checkout and just dealt with it. In the end, we were overall okay with the cost because it gave us an escape during our grieving, so we were going to swallow the original charge. However, once our card statement updated, it showed over $400 more than was quoted. I checked my email, including the spam folder, and was never provided a receipt. When we checked out, we were told we were going to get a copy of the receipt to our provided email. I even had them spell out the email to me. I called in to get an explanation and they told me it was for resort fees and taxes. When asked, they said that resort fees were not quoted and that they ‘assumed people knew’, but that if I had wanted the total, I would have asked for it. I explained that I had and they said they were going to transfer me to a manager who offered a small credit which did not touch the cost difference. Even the simple request of sending a copy of the receipt has not been fulfilled. I feel taken advantage of, especially when I had specifically explained that we lost someone that same day and that we needed assistance and a safe place for respite. Normally, when I book hotels, I book it online and I read reviews. If I had been of sound mind, I would have never booked this place because the negative reviews are absolutely accurate. I would never and will never book here again. Please take your money and put it towards any other hotel, because you can get a much nicer, newer, and better ran hotel for the same cost.

It’s a beautiful resort, and my husband and I (with our baby) chose to stay here to celebrate our anniversary. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a lovely harbor view. And surprisingly, the bed was very comfortable! We also really appreciated that our room was located between staff rooms, which added extra privacy and made the stay feel quieter and more comfortable. Another nice touch was the complimentary coffee offered in the lobby—it was great and genuinely delicious. There’s also an outdoor bar on the property that was closed during our stay, though I imagine the atmosphere is very pleasant during the summer months. The price felt a bit high though, especially considering the additional charges for amenities like the pool and hot tub, which weren’t really usable in January. We had hoped to use the hot tub, but unfortunately it wasn’t warm enough. When we first arrived, the light in the toilet room wasn’t working, and some of the recessed lights in the main room also wouldn’t turn on. The lamps provided enough light, so it wasn’t a major issue. When we mentioned it at checkout, we were told that certain switches need to be turned on in a specific order for the lights to work, which felt a bit complicated and unusual for a hotel stay. Another small inconvenience was the lack of a mini fridge in the room. The hotel offered us a pack and play at check-in, which we appreciated as parents. Unfortunately, the one brought to our room was dirty and broken, which was disappointing. Overall, the stay was nice, and the resort itself is beautiful. With a few improvements and clearer value for the price, it could be a great experience—especially during warmer months.
