St Charles Coach House, an Ascend Collection Hotel

St. Charles Coach House is a really nice property...with housekeeping, evening front desk personnel, and parking concerns. Starting with the concerns, the enclosed lower-level parking is sufficient but not enough for all the rooms, leading guests to park on the dark, open second level, which has no elevator. The exterior stairs from the second-floor parking are not the easiest to navigate with multiple pieces of luggage. Arriving late in the evening, you might be greeted with rather bohemian-looking and somewhat unprofessional staff who do not exude much personality, however are very thorough in their delivery of the hotel and its amenities. The exterior, lobby, common areas, and rooms are well-maintained; however, our room required a thorough vacuuming and a check of the bed for the last guest's hair on the pillow. ||Now, for the positive...the interior floor hallways are well-lit and really wide. Our floor (second) had an ice maker, filtered water dispenser, and microwave conveniently located for guest use. Our room with double beds was really large with high ceilings, well-appointed furnishings, linens, artwork, etc. The room comes equipped with a full-size Keurig coffee machine with premium roast coffees as well as a decorative glass water decanter for filling. The morning front desk staff could not be any more personable, welcoming, and informative.||For the location next door to the Ponchartrain and the wonderful decor and condition of the hotel and rooms, St. Charles Coach House should definitely be on your short list.

Absolutely loved the experience. Very nice rooms, Lovely patio area with a comfy lounge area along with corn hole and more. The staff were very nice and welcoming, also very helpful. I personally found the location to be very convenient. (Stores, restaurants and not a heavy traffic area) Not to mention the electric streetcar has many stops along St. Charles Ave and one which is located directly in front of St. Charles Coach House. It was my first time visiting New Orleans. And I guarantee you will not regret it!

Our favorite place to stay when we are in the city. We've been here 5 times over the last few years and they never disappoint. The staff is so friendly and the housekeepers work hard. It always smells like fresh lemons when you walk in. I also love the unique wallpaper in the elevator! It's a perfect location for going out to explore and coming back to cool down in the ice cold AC. The st.vharles car stops right out front and the hop on hop off bus picks up right across the street as well.

Overall this hotel is awesome! The rooms are huge and well equipped. The hotel feels historic but modernized. The location in the Garden District is convenient, yet out of hustle and bustle. Nice touches like free snacks and a keurig in the lobby. ||There are a couple reasons why I rated our experience 4/5.|First, there is definitely more than nominal street noise. Our room faced St Charles Ave and you could hear the streetcar and the "swish" of cars at night. There were ear plugs available in the lobby. I got some upgraded ones at the Walgreens nearby. ||Second, there are potential security vulnerabilities. A couple times during our stay, our room cards became deactivated due to being too close to our cell phones. The desk only asked for the room number when reactivating (ie, no reservation name or ID). Second, the front door to the hotel and the elevator are unlocked at all times including late at night. We came in a couple times and there was no one on duty at the desk so anyone could have just walked right in.

I just received a gift bag from the manager apologizing for a guest pulling a fire alarm. The hotel rooms are spacious and well appointed. Other than the act of mischief, it is quiet and safe. The hot water is plentiful, the bed comfortable and the free snacks in the lobby are appreciated. St. Charles Coach House is reasonably priced and right on the streetcar line.

Very quaint lodging with cute details from the lobby to the rooms. This spot is located within a neighboring area which offers free parking which is a gem in New Orleans ✨️. The front desk is very friendly and they have great coffee in the lobby. Check in is very easy and the location is conveniently located to hop onto the street car for exploring. I would think about returning if they would pay attention to the cleanliness is the rooms and also the parking garage could use a washdown and the rooms smell fresh but aren't being properly cleaned the shower along with the glass shower doors need to be scrubbed, the pullout bed had stains and debris underneath. This should be checked, vacuumed and cleaned after each guest. Also, housekeeping shouldn't have dirty towels sprawled in the hallways while cleaning. This isn't for guests to see. Place has potential with a few corrections and upgrades in housekeeping Room 34#

The staff was friendly, the room was spacious and everything worked properly. We were lucky enough to have room-access to the sundeck, which made the stay even better. Our room had large windows, on the corner, which was incredible. The location was perfect and within walking distance to plenty of food and convenience stores. Being right on the street car line was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.
