The Seabird Ocean Resort & Spa, a Destination by Hyatt Hotel

What an absolutely fabulous hotel. We selected this location as our wedding venue and have absolutely zero regrets about it. The entire staff were so kind to us during the whole process. I want to especially thank Brianna Welton, who took over as the event manager midway through our planning process. We were obviously a little nervous about the hotel staff change, but Brianna was absolutely great and made sure that the transition was completely smooth for us. We really appreciate the hard work that she put into making our wedding day special for us. I would also like to thank the entire staff. We had numerous friends and family come up and tell us how great the staff were and how they had been treated so well, which we truly appreciated. Outside of the wedding, we have come to the resort numerous times for a drink and have received the same level of service. Would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Oceanside to anyone.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Seabird Ocean Resort in Oceanside last weekend, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotless, with modern touches like a rain shower and a beautiful freestanding pedestal tub. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the oceanfront views were absolutely breathtaking…just steps away from the beach. Every dining experience was outstanding; the restaurants offered amazing food, the bartenders crafted some of the most creative drinks, and the room service was prompt and excellent. From the front desk to valet, and every member of the wait staff, the service was warm, professional, and made the stay even more enjoyable. This is probably one of the nicest places I’ve stayed, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for the perfect mix of luxury, relaxation, and coastal charm.

We just got back from staying at this resort over the Christmas holiday. Tyron and the team provided excellent customer service even from a few days before we checked in; and the great service continued during our stay. We were able to check in and noon and were upgrade to a full ocean view room. Room was very clean and many great restaurants on site or nearby. We went to have dinner at VALLE, a Michelin star 🌟 restaurant. Overall a fantastic stay, we hope to return soon.

Honest, hassle free resort. We spent Christmas 2025 here with our kids. The resort had many activities for kids like movie night, crafts, etc. The interiors were beautifully decorated with Christmas theme and gingerbread baked items. They don’t do tacky things like charging for water (there’s a refill station on every floor) or stuffing the fridge with alcohol. There are plenty of good restaurants in that area and the restaurants in premises are also good (although they could have better vegan options). There’s valet parking and also much cheaper public parking right next block. It’s just 20 minutes from Lego land. We loved our stay and will definitely stay there again.

What a lovely new hotel right on the ocean's edge. We were on the 6th floor with an ocean view. An ideal location from which to watch the sun set. Nothing more delightful than sitting on the deck with the welcome bubbley. There are many lovely seating areas in the hotel. The decor is relaxing and begs you to slow down and rest. Beautiful, classy Piper Restaurant on the first floor. Definitely would stay there again. Plus, great location to the pier and exploring the area by walking.

I stayed at the Hyatt Seabird in Oceanside, and while the hotel is visually impressive, the customer service and basic hospitality standards were shockingly below expectations—especially for a property that positions itself as a five-star destination. The hotel’s design is beautiful and the location near the ocean is undeniably appealing. But almost everything beyond the aesthetics fell apart. From the moment I arrived, the service was disorganized and inattentive. I actually had to go downstairs myself to ask where my luggage was, because no one followed up. That should never happen at a hotel of this caliber. My room had a foul odor, and I had to call three separate times before anyone addressed it—. The extra comforter they provided had lost the fillers (lol), not a luxury property. Even the small details were mismatched with the hotel’s "five-star" claims. A true luxury hotel offers premium touches like glass-bottle water; instead, I was given Costco-style flavored sparkling water. Meanwhile, the hallways smelled strongly of paint, and at one point, the shower handle came off—which would be laughable if it weren’t so unacceptable for a resort of this category. Hyatt has the opportunity to deliver something truly exceptional at the Seabird, given the location and design. But until they seriously improve their customer service, attention to detail, and quality standards, this property falls far short of what it claims to be.
