MCM Grande Hotel & Fun Dome Odessa

Was holed up here for 5 days during the ice/snow storm. The good: cool place to stay with kids, has indoor heated pool and hot tub, playground, ping pong, putt putt golf, so lots to keep the kiddos occupied. Our room was a little dated but spacious and clean, bed was comfy, staff was polite. The not so good: the food at the on site restaurant was mediocre and the service was pretty slow even though the place wasn't that busy, at one point was given wrong to go order, had to go back, I think our server didn't understand english very well...if you get an inside room keep in mind the proximity to the play areas if you like peace and quiet, the kids do make a lot of noise though they seemed to quit at a reasonable hour. Also had music playing for the entire hotel at the pool area for a while. Overall not bad especially for kids.

The first room they gave me (210, external) had weak/no heat, and it was the first cold night of the season. Also the toilet had a very weak flush, seemed in disrepair. I switched rooms, the 2nd room (252, external) had good heat, but the heater/fan made an audible rattling sound that was barely defeated by my white noise machine. Kinda an old junky place. Plusses: The front desk people were VERY nice and accommodating, the "fun dome" lobby seemed cool, I'm sure kids love it, and the free breakfast buffet was decent.

My family came in from out of town for my mom’s funeral with kids. We had a blast! I played miniature golf with my nephew for about two hours. They have a jungle gym to crawl into and all the kids had a good time. Even though we were there for my mom’s funeral we enjoyed it.

Rooms are not clean, definitely want to keep your shoes on. We had to be careful about the bathroom door because it wouldn't open from inside once closed. Complimentary breakfast buffet is almost empty by 8am even though they say breakfast is until 9am.|You will do a lot of asking and waiting for food. Restaurant Sunday morning is definitely more interested in its brunch crowd from town than paying hotel guest. Dinner buffet and complementary drink were good, one of better amenities from the hotel for sure. If you are going with a large family be aware you cannot sit out in the common area after 10 to visit and be together because they have a curfew and you will be told you can't be there and sent to your room. Pool area is more worried about bracelets than cleanliness. It states no lifeguard but they have a person who sits in a lifeguard seat but does nothing other then check for bracelets.|There were shining bright spots in our visit but not a lot. Also check in does not necessarily happen at 3. One room wasn't ready until around 5. And they are knocking on your door by 10am asking when you are checking out. Being told you are not free to move about a property you paid to be at is very strange. Overall I would say book elsewhere.

From first looks, you're like... oh no. Then you see the amenities as well as the price for what you get and its honestly NOT BAD. They have somewhat updated rooms, plenty of stuff for the family, a restaurant (buffet style), down the road from a gas station as well as PET FRIENDLY. I highly enjoyed my stay. Lovely staff too! I will note here that if tou want quiet, not the place. Its right next to a busy train track and during the weekends its party time for the adults. Other than that, 10 out of 10 for me.

My 3 year old had a blast. The free drinks were definitely a wonderful bonus. I didn't see any pests and we definitely had food in the room. We will stay here again if we are back in Odessa.

This was definitely a hidden gem, passed through on a work trip and all the other hotels were booked up. And this place didn't look promising on the outside but was shockingly nice on the inside. And they give out 2 free drinks per day. Definitely my go to spot now
