My Place Hotel-Overland Park, KS

This hotel is sketchy. The cleanliness is less than acceptable, and when it entering the hall to the second floor, there was a pervasive odor of marijuana. We had a team of softball girls eating in the lobby. They were told to be quiet - they were simply talking and laughing, like teenagers do. The location is good, but this hotel is not one we will choose on the future. Smelling marijuana during your stay is not ideal. I don't expect to smell anything - cigarettes, vapes, pot - in my hotel room. If you're reading this review, pass on this hotel and find a better one.

The beds are comfortable, and everything was clean. It is nice that they have a full refrigerator and a small stove but just be aware that there are no dishes. It is just a no frills hotel. That is great for us because we don't need the extras and I would rather have a lower price. That's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Usually for a 5 star rating there are several extras.

The staff was SO WONDERFUL. The rooms were extremely clean. The staff literally went above and beyond and were so amazing and helpful to me throughout my transition moving out of my apartment and my new apartment, (not being ready in time)… I had to stay here, but they made my experience so wonderful. Would literally recommend to anyone. They even bring breakfast to you in the morning. Great location. The staff/ cleaning staff is AWESOME.

The hotel was just what I needed. Not extravagant, but very clean and welcoming staff. Lisa checked me in and was the desk attendant both nights of my stay. She was very pleasant and very helpful! The room was very clean!! I cant stress that enough! For the price, I was expecting lesser accommodations. The bed was comfortable, all the outlets worked, the ac blew cold AND THE ROOM WAS SPOTLESS. The television remote needed batteries replaced, but I took it to the desk and Lisa got them swapped out for me in a split second. I actually need to go back to KC soon and plan on booking with My Place Hotel again!

This location seemed fine at first. There are signs stating the hotel and premises are under video surveillance however the new management decided they didn’t need to put them up even though they have promised to do so for 7 months to the staff. This is important because our vehicle was stolen right out of the parking lot and there is no video of the event, nor could staff see it was happening even though they have video feed screens right next to the desk and it happened right out the front door. We spoke with the manager that morning when we discovered our vehicle missing, and he was extremely unprofessional and rude. He told us "that sucks, call the cops." The corporate representative was equally rude and unprofessional. They told us they are not responsible for anything and they have no obligation to do anything for us. We asked them to please make sure cameras were in place to protect others and to make the area more secure and a deterrent to crimes but their response was "we don’t have to." Choose a different location where your family and belongings are more safe and secure and staff actually care, not this location.

Just checked into myplace. Its always my first choice when coming to overland park. There’s plenty of stores and restaurants around. The staff is nice and checkin in was quick, lobby was clean, and staff was understanding and accommodating. Had a short little conversation with the front desk girl la’niah and shes super sweet. Had a hard time remembering where things were and she was super patient re-explaining. My daughter was with me for the first time and she agreed it was nice for the price .
