Mandalay Shores Resort

Rooms are spacious, clean and everything works. They allow dogs in some units for a fee! Office staff are helpful and responsive. A little 80s vibes with the tile in the bathroom, but it's fine since it is clean and safe. Only negatives - they don't provide quality soap and shampoo and they charge resort fees.

This is a little charm located 1/2 a block from the beach with a great view of the Channel Islands. The outside screams charm. A fireplace awaits you inside as does a nice interior. The rooms inside are spacious.||The unit that we stayed in is definitely in need of upgrades. The fan over the stove did not work and the bathrooms have great hot water, but could be a little more modern. The pool is great. The single BBQ for all the units needs a clean - the fire was there, but no heat and we were forced to finish the meat in the oven in our unit. ||Service was great on the first days, but later in the week, we had questions about the mid-week clean, which never occurred, and where to put our garbage/recycling when the receptacles were full. Several calls to the building manager, leaving messages, no response and manager going for lunch and not returning, even when the "Be Back At..." sign indicated 12:45pm.||It is a little far for a home-base for Disneyland as it's a 2.5 hour drive each way, especially with SoCal traffic. Cute area in Oxnard and Ventura.||All being said, it was a decent week-long stay and hopefully will be able to return.

It was fun. It was great nice place for the kids with great ocean views. Great sand plenty to do to keep the kids busy rooms were great. Well supplied would go back again in a heartbeat a hop skip, and a jump away from Los Angeles and a nice break.

Everyone at Mandalay Shores Resort was so friendly and helpful. Olga was especially helpful in the office across the street. Our 2-story 2bd/2ba condo was very comfortable with everything we needed for the week. Bedrooms were upstairs (Queen and 2 Twins) and a full bath with jetted tub and shower with sliding glass doors enclosure. Getting in/out of the tub was quite difficult since the tracks for the sliding doors meant you couldn't sit on the edge of the tub. The full bathroom downstairs had a nice, step-in shower. Stackable Washer/Dryer in the kitchen worked great once we made sure the select switch was in the proper position (photo). With a full kitchen and a large dining table, we ate most meals in. Parking on the street right in front of the unit was convenient with the beach just down the street. We never used the pool or gym. The neighborhood was friendly and safe and it was so nice leaving the windows open with the fresh air to keep us comfortable.

Nice place right by the beach. The condo was clean. The unit had its own hot tub on a private deck. Nice kitchen with all the expected utensils, pots and pans. The staff was professional and friendly. I would stay here again.

Amazing place. Have a WHOLE HOUSE. Lovely place. Full kitchen, little balcony, outside sitting room. There is an outdoor pool and hot tub, less than a block from the beach. So comfortable and really lovely. Great service. Bikes to borrow, little clubhouse. Great place. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll come back.

We took a one bedroom condo at the resort. It was huge compared to other accommodation on our California road trip, with two bathrooms and three floors. The resort is also located just a few steps away from the beach, and there are some nice extras touches like free-to-borrow beach chairs. That said, the condo was not spotless and many of the fixtures and fittings were quite tired. If you're prepared to sacrifice luxury and five star cleanliness for a large, conveniently located condo, Mandalay Shores is a good choice.
