We found this place by a fluke. Upon greetings with smiley faces made it even better then the beautifully decorated resort. From floor to ceiling and everything in-between just looks, feels and is comfortable. Gorgeous resort, gorgeous staff! I love it when I feel immediately at home and welcomed. Check in was smooth, the room was huge with two bathrooms, separated sleeping area and a kitchenette with good coffee. Water was hot when needed, pool clean and upkept. Huge fireplace and a even bigger fire puit that could probably seat 30 people easily. Beach was super easily accessible. Secured parking if you need. Very quiet, could not hear our neighbors or the room up top of us. Patio thru the sliding glass doors just set it to perfect for us. Beautiful scenery and easy to get too. We will be returning
Positive: Extremely clean, spacious and included a lot of amenities. Staff was very nice and inviting as well. Negative: I wasn’t aware that parking would be an additional cost of $45-$55 so that was a lot on top of the cost of the room unfortunately.
All this place really has is its location honestly. The walls to the rooms seem to be made out of cardboard, you can hear every foot fall from those above you, you can hear every conversation from those in hallways and rooms next to yours. The daily clean from the room service was super inconsistent, some days everything would be cleaned and swapped out, some days nothing would be touched. There is also no parking on the premises unless you want to pay $50 a night to park there (if you’re government travel you can get DTS to pay for it, but it’s not worth the hassle). There is also no free breakfast in the morning. There are no laundry facilities. Don’t worry they have a military appreciation lunch special! You get to buy a burger and fries from their restaurant for $30! What a joke honestly. The hot tub and pool were clearly not cleaned and kind of gross to be in. Also the way they charge your stay on credit card is different compared to most other hotels so it may get flagged for fraud (im traveling on government orders and my card got frozen halfway thru the trip). Next time I have to travel to Ventura CA for work I’m definitely staying at a different hotel, mainly for the free parking and complimentary breakfast.
Wow! From the room to the service, this is much better than a rated 4 star hotel! Absolutely incredible all around. From the first impression with friendly and helpful staff, to the consistent positive experiences and a bed more comfortable than my own !! I cannot wait to return! They put me up in F635, which has an incredible beach view, the crashing waves put my mind to rest immediately after fighting past the LA traffic! Thank you so much. Billy Z
Very nice stay and lots to do at the hotel. Beautifully laid out, with a fine dining restaurant on grounds. Full size basketball court, tennis court (with faded pickle ball lines as well). On a great stretch of semi-private beach with good surf. Rooms are showing their age, but they are roomy and comfortable. Great Valet and Door persons. Check in would do better to include showing guests to their room in a somewhat complicated room lay out. Hotel offers 2 hour credits for rental equipment that includes boogie boards, tennis rackets, board games, a phonograph and LPs and several other choices. Almost certainly will stay here again.
I can not understand where all these good reviews come from. There is literally no real service here. The button for the restaurants on their phones don't work, after getting through to the front desk the forward you to the restaurant and they don't pick up the phone. After trying every single option they tell you to use from qr codes to their website, but they have 15 QR codes in the room and they all lead to open table or the SPA. No one gives you the website to order to your room and just points you to a QR code. They tell you that you can text them. It's ai and it's trash. Whatever LLM they use is more confused than are the staff members you try and chat with about these issues. When you do go to the restaurant you just get to be ignored for 9 minutes by multiple staff members to even get on the list for a table. Paid for a partial ocean view, I stare out to a field and houses, and ocean blocked by a sand dune. Don't waste your money on these rooms. No robes, no slippers, no shower cap, every soap bottled down, bad room coffee (stingy too). But hey if poor interior designing and proportionally giant TVs are your thing you're in luck. Lobby looks wonderful, wish the rooms did too. What an abysmal stay.
Our room was very clean and the view was gorgeous, I recommend reserving one on the ocean side if available. The staff is friendly and the restaurant serves delicious food. They even provide room service. I will definitely stay again.
