This was first time in Providence and the Christopher Dodge House was convenient to the venue where I was attending. It was a short walk from the train station. Staff was extremely helpful upon arrival. The room was immaculate, huge, and comfortable. The morning breakfast was amazing, with not only a continental breakfast (cereal, muffins, toast, coffee, tea, juice) but also choice of 2 main hot items which varied each day. They were unique and amazin - the pancakes to die for, and the cheesecake filled French toast was out of this world. The staff at breakfast was friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time. It is a nice quiet place away from things, yet close enough to catch what we needed.

I spent 3 January nights at the Christopher Dodge House, and it was absolutely perfect. The room was bright, airy, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and sufficiently large that all I needed for lunch was a small yogurt all 3 days. I enjoyed being able to make a Keurig coffee after dinner. I liked being able to preview the rooms before selecting one since every room is slightly different. The location was ideal for getting around the inner city on foot and further afield by car. Some reviews mention highway noise but I didn't find it bothersome at all, though the windows were closed for winter.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Providence. It's close to downtown, the east side, and Brown, yet in a very quiet neighborhood. The Statehouse is visible from the front of the inn. The room was huge, with beautiful views of other Victorian homes. Even on the coldest winter nights, the fireplace heated the room within minutes. There is free parking adjacent to the building, with overflow parking a few blocks away. The free breakfast was among the best I've had anywhere in the world. They have a comprehensive continental breakfast, plus two cooked entrees each day, one sweet and one savory. One day the choice was strawberry pancakes or eggs Benedict. Another time it was blueberry-cheesecake stuffed French Toast or quiche with ham. They also provide complimentary 24-hour beverages: coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Soft drinks and wine are available for purchase. The only issue with this place is the long, steep staircases. Anyone with limited mobility should find a more accessible place.

Positive: Hotel employee and her husband were very helpful and informative. Negative: I am not a big fan of the plastic cup coffee.

Such a cute little B&B! I'm a travel content creator and have a degree in hospitality management, so I have high expectations when it comes to hotels, Inns, etc. Christopher Dodge House definitely met my expectations. We were only there for 1 night as we were attending a wedding in the city - I wish we could have stayed longer. We booked one of the prime rooms and it was huge! Lots of space and very lovely. I enjoyed the decor and it was clean. The woman who checked us in was lovely too and we enjoyed the breakfast in their cozy dining room. There was a nice continental buffet (cereals, pastries, yogurt) and then two hot options. We also had chocolate chip cookies in our room on arrival, which is such a nice touch (and I have a huge sweet tooth so I was extra excited). The location is great too - right near a lot of attractions in the city. Thank you for a great stay! Had to stay overnight in providence for a family event. The folks at Christopher Dodge House were so kind and accommodating. The rooms are larger and nicer than your average Hilton, while being very reasonably priced! My husband and I were so happy that we chose to stay- so convenient to the shops/restaurants. The fireplace was a really nice touch- if we have to go back to Providence, I know where we'll be staying 🙂

The Dodge House is a first rate BnB. From their excellent online communications to the warm welcome, delicious breakfasts and cozy rooms, we have seldom experienced such great service. If you are looking for lodging that is walking distance to all the downtown Providence activities, restaurants, etc, I recommend that you look no further than this beautifully run place. Hospitality the way it should be.
