Wonderful historic location to treat my woman for her 50th. Beautiful building, great amenities including hot tub, spa, bar and restaurant. The spa massage was incredible. Room service was prompt and delicious. Valet parking was courteous and helpful. Front desk staff were personable and accomodating. Overall a wonderful experience!!
Michelle Fernatt, and her catering staff, Melissa and bar tender Elvis were amazing ti work with. The whole staff went above and beyond quality customer service, they all were very attentive to everyone's needs. My daughter had a vision for her wedding reception and Michelle and everyone helped make it come to fruition. Myself, family and friends all traveled from Ohio for this event and everyone had a great time, the food and whole experience. I highly recommend these guys for any event and will definitely stay with them again. Thank you Hotel Roanoke. Debbie, from Ohio
I just had the best stay at Hotel Roanoke in December 2025. The hotel was truly a Christmas wonderland. I brought a group with me and worked closely with Chris in Sales and Erika in Events, and both were absolutely incredible. Erika went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our trip was fantastic, from dining arrangements to personally greeting us to ensuring our rooms were perfectly set.||I’m so grateful for the entire team. I wish I had caught more names along the way, because everyone was wonderful. A front desk team member kindly helped me with bandages after a minor accident, our dinner service team was amazing, and Allison and so much of the valet crew were friendly and helpful. Casey, our breakfast server in the Regency Room, offered excellent service along with great conversation and thoughtful suggestions for exploring downtown.||I could go on and on. I highly recommend experiencing Hotel Roanoke at Christmastime.
Everything is beautiful at the Hotel Roanoke. The food was great and staff was very friendly and helpful. My only issue was the bed: king size bed with 2 small pillows that completely flattened when I laid my head down. The bed gave me a backache. May I suggest bringing your own pillows and extra blankets.
Frequent visitor, local Blue Ridge beauty, and Realtor here asking for hot chocolate during peak holiday season to be added to the menu. I have experienced the rooms, The Pine, The Regency, the bar, and the breakfast buffet, and I’m looking forward to upcoming events, supporting local artists and still recommend this location as top tier downtown Roanoke experience - especially during Christmas season! My friends have worked there and rave about the positive working environment. My request is simple - Nesquick or Swiss Miss will do. There is no need to overprice it— just consider it as a fair trade for the hard black-eyed peas and the lack of asparagus I ordered but never got. In the mean time - see you soon & stay great.
Hotel Roanoke is super nice aesthetically, pretty on the outside and inside, with clean well decorated rooms, however at the end of the day the experience is the same as any other nicer rated Hilton. Wasn’t particularly wowed by the service, as information given by the staff would be inconsistent when we inquired about parking, dining. We told them no need for the cleaners to come the first day, which they did anyway I wouldn’t mind this but they didn’t replace any of towels, just took anything hanging up including the robes, and made the bed, left the trash, which was a little unusual but not a huge deal as we only stayed 3 nights. Honestly the poor quality of the beds and pillows was the most disappointing part for the rate of the room. Also extremely thin walls, probably much worse as we were there right after Christmas during a busy season but be ready to hear walking above you and your neighbors snoozing their phone alarm.
The Hotel Roanoke sits on a hill above downtown Roanoke. Originally built as a railroad hotel, it is separated from downtown by railroad tracks, but there is a lovely bridge across the tracks with lots of plaques to read about the local history.||Check-in was the only downside of the hotel, and it wasn't check-in per se, but getting the car to the check-in area. The hotel has a circular road in front of the front doors, and we were like 10th in line to get there. Many people valet park, mainly because the self-park lot cannot be accessed until after you check-in and get your room key. Once we realized what was happening, I went and checked in leaving my husband to move the car as the line moved and then we self-parked. The actual check-in at the front desk was very smooth.||We went after Christmas and the hotel was beatifully decorated for the holiday. It was nearly magical! We had several drinks over the three days at the bar - that could be carried throughtout the hotel and even onto the veranda! We used the lobby quite a bit to enjoy the ambiance. They also have a display of trees created by local charities and it was fun to walk around and look at the various trees. The lobby was also great for people watching.||Our room was beautiful. clean, and comfortable. The closet had robes for use (or sale), a safe, and we had a view of the Mill Mountain Star at night. We faced the star, and the view was amazing. We also faced the active rail tracks, although the sound was not annoying. Be careful not to get the parking lot views!||We didn't want to leave when our stay was finished. Roanoke has a cute downtown with great restaurants and I would go again in a heartbeat.
