Days Inn by Wyndham San Angelo

Well, the tv reception went out, I couldn't watch tv, due supposedly to the weather. Even though sunny, both days, only slightly windy. Clean rooms, but the door paint on the inside is chipped off? The other guest, were somewhat noisy, standing out front near the window? So so not more than that.

Positive: The room itself was just fine. It was clean and all fixtures worked as they should. Location is convenient and for the price, it was good. Negative: The hotel was under renovation--parking lot was messy and none of the ice machines worked. The type of room I booked was unavailable due to the reno---why have them available online then---and staff was unfriendly except for the checkout lady.

BEWARE! I don’t have unrealistic expectations of budget hotels. THIS NEEDS TO BE CLOSED AND REMODELED- shame on you Wyndham. I have no clue how the reviews are high enough to be at a 3. The room immediately smelled like 20+ year old carpet, urine, pet, and chemical carpet fresh smell combined. It was after 10;30 pm and we were exhausted. I went to the office and the let me " smell" another room. Exactly the same stench. She hate me room spray and we went to bed. We could feel springs thru the mattress. Awful sleep. Bathroom smelled like pee. Just spend a few dollars more and go elsewhere

The hotel is good for what it is worth... if you can find it. The address on Google maps and therefore on apps like hotels.com is wrong so it takes you to the middle of no where just outside of San Angelo. I had to call the front desk and ask for their address for GPS. And when we did finally get here, there were 6 cops outside peering into a hotel room. Luckily we were on the other side of the show down. Its in a weird location vs. the city but close to a gas station and IHOP.

Hotel is in great disrepair. Cannot close bathroom doors, and remotes to TV unavailable. Price was doubled when we paid compared to what was stated on reservation. Continental breakfast was like going to a friend's house who hasn't gone shopping in months. No options. One cerial, one milk, one oatmeal. No drinks, no other choices. No drinks. Would never stay again under current leadership. They slapped new paint on everything like a landlord rental and called it good.

The front desk person is exceptional. The cleaning crew is horrible. It is 5:30 pm, check in was at 3:00. We are standing outside our room waiting on the cleaning crew. I had to go 3 times to the office asking for them to clean our extremely FILTHY room. The room is the dirtiest I have ever seen which says a lot since o have stayed in hostels across the world. Structurally, the eave above our room is rotted and the stucco on the column fell off. There is a construction crew that has overflowing trash. I saw rat droppings on the outdoor hallway. There are no vacancies within 30 miles are we would be gone. I absolutely would not stay here.

The only reason they get 1 star is because I have to select it in order to leave a review. The website features amenities that are no longer available. No pool, no guest laundry services, no ice machines, no early check in, and I'm betting the 2 vending machines that are there don't work. The people at the front desk are so rude and they don't care about their guests. There is a giant construction dumpster right up against the building that other guests are obviously throwing their trash into, and if our room reached a temperature over 69 degrees, the room smelled that trash due to it.
