Good value for the price. The rooms were clean, and the front desk staff was helpful. However, the mattress and linens felt low quality. If comfort is important to you, you may want to consider the more expensive hotels nearby.

We had a horrendous stay at the Candlewood and they were going to give me an extra 1000 points because check in was at 3 pm and our room was not ready until 4:35 pm. Also we had a flood in our room at 5 am the next day. Sent security up to bale the water out of the sink. We had to get dressed and watch him clean up the mess. Assume it was from the dishwasher in the room next to us. But the drain was plugged The manager, Juan Carlos Morales was supposed to to call me and never has

Hands down the very best hotel for the price I have ever been to. From the spacious rooms to the countless amenities and staff friendliness. My only hesitation in posting this review is that so many people will find out and the next time I come it will be booked to hilt. You nailed it Candlewood as the benchmark for what travelers need in a hotel

This kind of hotel with a little kitchenette in the room always feels like a home away from home. We used the pot to boil some instant noodles and nothing is more satisfying than the instant noodles in a hotel on a trip 🙂

Cross-posted to IHG website: I took part in a bicycle tour of California across 7 days, and the Candlewood was the standout best stay of the week. The water pressure was excellent and the shower/hand toiletries of very good quality. The blackout curtains and comfortable bed helped me have a restful night. I loved that you could borrow DVDs to watch from the recliner in the room! There was even a bag of popcorn in the microwave when I arrived, which felt like such a welcoming touch. I was happy that the Cupboard was available (though I didn’t need to use it). And the room wasn’t noisy - I was right off of the lobby (a benefit after a long day of cycling) but I never would have known given how quiet it was. I felt safe there.|I’m actively looking into planning another trip to this area to stay at the Candlewood again.

I was checking out the Santa Maria area and stayed in the one bedroom suite. It had a comfortable bed. It has a clean kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Sofa needed some work. Housekeeping will only be on check out. Perhaps it is more geared to long term stays. I did not use housekeeping but don't expect it during a stay. The place is looking dated and not the bright and airy from the pictures from the website. There is a free laundry area that you can sign up for. You will have to buy your own soap. They have very quiet rooms. They have a good mini convenient store. This is a great location between coast and wine country. Local strip of shops that have fast food nearby but you will have to drive more for any good sit down restaurants but right off the highway so it's an easy location. It's a good value for CA. There is no pool or hot tub. The front desk was nice and helpful.

I stayed here one night. The room was nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The cabinets were well stocked with dishes. They had an area by the front desk where you could borrow kitchen appliances like a a slow cooker. The staff were nice during check in. I would stay here for a longer stay in the future.
