We recently stayed at the Kimpton Miralina Resort in a remodeled room and had a mostly wonderful experience. Pros: • Centrally located, making it easy to explore the area. • The grounds were clean and well-maintained. • Rooms were clean and spacious, perfect for families. • The pools were great, our kids loved them, and the resort felt very family-friendly. • Staff interactions were consistently friendly and welcoming. They even drove us to our room with our bags in a golf cart when we arrived. Cons: • Poolside drinks were more expensive than at the indoor bar. • Pool wait staff seemed understaffed, leading to longer waits for drinks. • While the rooms were spacious overall, the bathroom was on the smaller side; the toilet/shower area barely allowed the door to close. • Some construction was still ongoing, but it didn’t detract from the overall grounds or experience. Overall, we’d happily return once the remodel is finished. A great family-friendly option with attentive staff, a clean property, and a prime location.
Positive: Staff was absolutely excellent. Very helpful, nice, professional, and courteous. Negative: As others have commented, the rooms as well as the furniture are definitely overdue for a refresh.. Exterior doors were hard to lock... Front door didn't seal, at all... Light(air) was visible around 4 sides...
Our stay at Kimpton Miraval Resort & Villas did not meet the standards expected from a premium resort. At check-in, we were taken to the wrong room and received no assistance with luggage. Once in the correct room, we discovered torn bedding and what appeared to be bed bugs along the mattress seams. We documented this with photos and immediately reported it. Although we were moved, the experience continued to decline. Housekeeping did not service the room until 8:00 PM after we followed up. Bar service was also disappointing, as I waited several minutes for coffee while staff made eye contact but did not acknowledge me. The only staff member who showed genuine professionalism was Maria, one of the kitchen supervisors. After hearing what had happened, she personally brought me a coffee and showed concern. She was the only one who seemed to truly care about guest service. There appears to be a noticeable difference between renovated areas and older sections of the property, which impacts the overall experience. While the morning manager was more professional than the afternoon manager, our concerns were not resolved appropriately and no compensation was offered despite the documented issues. For a resort at this price point, cleanliness, service, and guest care should be consistent. I encourage future guests to inspect their rooms carefully.
The hotel was fully renovated last year. I already loved it before, but now it’s unbeatable. Big rooms, great pools and spa, and super service. Kudos to Tammy and Carol who did a great job helping me with my room reservation (my travel agency had done something wrong). You were so calm and professional im the middle of the night!!! I already look forward to my next stay.
Stayed here at the end of December into January. Renovations are still ongoing as I was informed before booking. We stayed in an updated room and while they are nice and new the showers left a bit to be desired. I thought since the room was new the bed wouldn't be soft yet but alas it was! I believe 5/6 pools/hot tubs were open during out stay. Lovely pools. I wish they were just a bit warmer in the winter months. The hot tubs were great. Gym is really nice. I believe there are two at least but we only saw one. The lobby is finished and really nice. The staff is excellent. For the price I'd stay again but would like to go back when renovations are complete to really enjoy it all. Good location for us, off a main street but once you're in the hotel you don't feel that at all. All in all would go again.
This was a beautiful stay! The resort is very accommodating and clean, luxurious, and offers a wide variety of amenities and complementary stuff! Even for things you forgot to bring. Very nice staff, set up, location, service, and just overall beautiful views. Also very nice you can check out via texting the staff and for anything you’d need.
I stayed at Kimpton Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa for a work visit and it was an incredible experience. The resort is so tranquil and located in one of the most stunning desert landscapes. The mountains in the background are absolutely breathtaking and the palm trees around the property make the whole setting feel peaceful and luxurious. The overall aesthetic is beautifully desert chic. I especially appreciated that the design of the rooms stays true to the Arizona and Scottsdale style rather than feeling overly modern. The rooms were very clean and felt new, and the bed was honestly one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. The layout of the resort is also very easy to navigate, which makes getting around relaxing and stress free. I stayed in the 900s villas and loved how quiet and private the area felt. The villas with the porch seating outside were a highlight for me. Sitting outside and enjoying the calm atmosphere was such a nice part of the stay. The food across the resort was excellent. Both the poolside restaurant and the Mexican restaurant were outstanding and made it easy to enjoy great meals without leaving the property. Service across the resort was wonderful and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The only disappointing part of my stay was at check in. The front desk asked for my credit card for incidentals and mentioned it would only be used for that purpose, but the full cost of the stay was charged to my card even though my work had already booked the room and had a card on file. Aside from that issue, the experience was fantastic overall. I would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful stay in Arizona.
