The hotel was OK... but probably wouldn’t stay here again. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the staff. The staff was very accommodating and responded to my request in timely manner. I was here on business but the pictures don’t look anything like the rooms. The hotel is definitely older and the smell of some of the rooms smelled old and mildew. Needs fresh paint and the first room I was in had a old tub, smelled like old smoke and mildew and then it was some type of brown liquid stuff on the back of the toilet which is why I asked to move rooms. The second room we were in smelled better but that same night spotted a roach in bathroom and that did it for me. The office responded quickly and had the maintenance man come and didn’t see a roach since but it turned my whole stomach off from even like eating at the hotel. But again it needs updating and lots TLC and I’ll consider coming back. It was safe which I’m thankful and again all the staff was really nice and helpful.
Hotel was renovated, but not well. The paint job wasn't great, but worse was the A/C not working well in the humid climate. The hotel looked online like it would be comfortable, but the next door room was taped off like it was being bug bombed, could have just been renovations, I suppose, but also my room had a sickly ladies cologne smell, too. Also I stepped into the elevator and the floor was soaking wet, no sign of Wet Floor, I almost fell over from slipping, I'm glad they were cleaning, but they could have been more careful and considerate of their guests. Just too many criticisms to feel comfortable giving a good review.
Front desk was great, check in was easy, location was very convenient. The room was nice an spacious, however the microwave was dirty, there was dried urine on base toilet near the back. Hair was on the floor as well as counter. An the water in the sink never got hot. The shower water had to run a few minutes before gettin hot. Other than that the stay was nice.
I reserved two rooms about two weeks in advance. When we arrived at 3:15 (15 minutes after check in supposedly began), we were given two rooms. When we arrived at the first room, the door was propped open, and it was clearly in the middle of being cleaned. We headed to the second room - it was locked but also in the process of being cleaned. We headed back to the front desk, where we were given two more rooms. They were both also in the process of being cleaned. We returned again to the front desk, where there was a long line. Many others were having the same problem we were having. The front desk worker told us he couldn't reach a manager. We told them we were leaving to give them a chance to straighten it out, and we went to eat. When we returned two hours later, one of our rooms was ready, but the second room was, again, in the process of being cleaned. Finally, six rooms and hours later, we were given a clean room. I called corporate to complain during our two hours away from the hotel, and they said they would follow up with me this week. They have not followed up. Other than that, I guess the room was fine. There are half-finished renovation projects throughout the hotel, but at least they're trying to improve. I will say the continental breakfast was the best I've ever seen. I would not return, nor will I visit any Wyndham again soon.
Stayed at hotel for conference for work. Pool was "closed for maintenance" but was drained and not being worked on for our entire stay. Staff was not helpful at all. Rooms were dirty and did not include all amenities that were advertised such as microwave and hair dryer. Toilet paper holder and thermostats were falling off of the walls, and holes burned into carpets. 3 of our rooms did not have wash rags and when asked for some at the front desk, we were advised that, "They were not handing them out at that time." One co-worker is still suffering from sinus issues due to having her air conditioner leak onto the carpet for our entire stay. The staff refused to change her room and brought a de-humidifier instead. It's a shame that the hotel is that bad considering the great location it is in.
Just what we needed. On a drive from Dallas to Baton Rouge we needed a little spot to crash. I wasn't looking for perfect, just pleasant. Wyndham was a great place for just that. Sure there are quirks to the place but nothing that should turn you away (unless you straight up diva). The lobby seemed modern but the furniture was quite used (no big since I wasn't planning on sleeping in the lobby). The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet, spacious and cold (a big plus for my hubby who likes the room crisp). The bed was the right amount of firm and soft with plenty of pillows (homegirl loves her some pillows). The bathroom smelled/looked fresh and clean. I was also glad to see a Whole Foods Market across the street for some clean eating in the morning and healthy snacks for the rest of our road trip. Overall a great experience.
From the front desk staff to the kitchen staff, just an awesome experience. My children and I were visiting family and didn't realize there was a Pink concert in town. We went everywhere until finally I went online and found this lovely place. Booked it and got signed up for Wyndham Rewards (sweet!) And then was able to check in. The wonderful woman at the front desk knew it was late (we had driven over 10hrs and counting)and set our room up for check out at noon. The shower, amazing! The bed, Heaven! And the "Continental Breakfast"? Outta this world! Very professional servers and the food..I haven't had grits like that in a long time. Everything and everyone was a just an on time blessing!
