Great place - clean, bright, never held crowded, even in week-end nights. Separate smoking area also nice. Staff is super friendly - say "hey" to Ashley H who is always really friendly. I had a good day and Ashley was as enthusiastic about my wins as I was!
There’s a nice mix of everything inside. Good table games, plenty of video poker, and a solid variety of slot machines. The casual food options are good, and Rockwood Grill is especially great. I haven’t tried the steakhouse yet, so I can’t comment on that one. The rooftop bar and seating area is another highlight. It’s a fun place to hang out and grab some good bites. Slot variety is one of the things I like most. There’s a good mix of "hit by" games, 3-reel classics, plus both newer and older machines. My only real concern is with how new games have been rolling in lately. When the casino first opened, the slots were updated frequently and there was always something fresh and exciting to try. Over the last several months, that has slowed down a lot, and it feels like only a handful of new games have been added. There are so many newer titles I’ve been hoping to see here, like Piggy Bankin Breakin, Spooky Link, Super Hot Flamin Pots, Railroad Riches, All Aboard, Ultimate Fast Cash, Dancing Drums Link, Huff and Even More Puff Grand, and I’ve been waiting all year for a version of Mystery of the Lamp. I’d love to see new slot additions come in more regularly again, even just a few new games each month. Overall, this is a great casino and a place I really enjoy going to. Adding more new slot titles would make it even better.
Rooms were really nice. However, the cold water on the bathroom sink did not work. Great service, staff was friendly and attentive. We were there for the New Years Eve celebration. Buffet was good, turkey was excellent! Band in the main room was not good. They sounded out of tune, or off key, to me. Otherwise it was a good visit.
Everything about this place is just amazing. The only down fall to me is the one Restaurant called The Soda Shoppe. This place is nice simple but this place has no connection to a Soda Shoppe at all. Not only that if you show that your in a county that started the Coke cola bottling would sale even offer their products. But they don’t. It’s Pepsi products only.
We enjoy this casino very much! Especially the specialized treatments from our Hosts. Thanks to Clay and Taxi for going above and beyond to create a nice birthday experience for my husband! A lot of slots here seemed to be loose for progressive betting. We saw people winning all around us frequently. Great atmosphere! spread out very clean. Excellent selection of slots table games are few and far between throughout the week… The rooms are extremely spacious. It’s just an all-around nice experience! From Cleaning staff, especially the young man in the smoking room, to security, waitresses and cashiers everyone gives exceptional customer service with a smile as you pass by and this is what keeps us coming back.. Just a friendly reminder to a small handful of the dealers at the tables.. Gambling is fun, it’s an experience. Make it such for your customer. Smile. Enjoy it yourself….. I’m sure Dealing cards can create some monotony, but slow down. Take a deep breath. Seems like a fun job. Also Big shout out to Justin and his fine service at the Rockwood Bar and Grill! Excellent food! We can’t wait to return. Merry Christmas all and a happy new year! See you soon!
Last week was amazing with the Casino, everyone in marketing presented themselves with smiles and very professional setups with the giveaways. Thank you all for a fun week. My host Clay is amazing , thank you so much for stepping up to help me. There isn't many places for a 74 year old female to go in the area and feel safe at anytime 24 hours a day seven days a week. I go all hours, great beverages, late night restaurant and fun slots everywhere Clean atmosphere and great staff in every department. Rewards are plentiful and easy to access . Thanks again for providing a safe, fun place to go.
Terre Haute Casino does not give good payouts, and their Comps have suffered, too, since their "Grand Opening." (New Gen'l. Mgr. last May/June, we were told.) We don't see the same crowds as when they first opened, so the word must be out that you don't win. Machines that used to have folks waiting are left empty now. Restaurants that had live performances no longer do. Heat and thermostats in Standard rooms do NOT function well and rooms are chilly on cold winter nights! (Brought the hair dryer to bed and ran it to warm up!!) Center and Corner Suites have better control of heating and cooling, but of course are 3x the cost and rarely available. Suite Faucets have been broken, coffee makers broken, phones broken. The place is fewer than 2 years old! Rooms aren't soundproof, especially from the hallway--one night, the moaning we could hear from the room directly across the hall made it very obvious there was a "Swinger's party" going on in that room, voices of at least two women and two men getting it on loudly and then washing up. (The bathrooms are closest to the entrance doors) There are no pretty "views" from the room windows--you see the buildings' roofs and equipment, local Farmlands, and semis on the highways in the distance. The only "nice" view is from the rooftop bar patio at Altitude at Sunrise or Sunset. Key cards quit working early and it's a long walk to the elevator, which operates by key, only to discover you have to go back to the front desk to re-program keys, once, back & forth 3X! Player's cards have to be inserted repeatedly before they're accepted into Slots, even newly printed from Kiosks. Won't even go into the amount you need to gamble to earn points into some of their promotional games. The few positive notes are, no children running through the halls, but pets (dogs) are allowed! Most of the staff are terrific! There are a few cashiers who are less than pleasant but, alas, you're not likely to visit the Cage often anyway since you're not winning, so you won't encounter THEM. 😉 LOL The Holiday decorations were very nicely done and lovely! Their decorator works HARD! The food choices at Soda Shoppe, Altitude and Rockwood are tasty. Rockwood's chef is from New Orleans and creates lots of Cajun/Creole dishes. The "high-end" steakhouse, Four Cornered, however, is uninspired and expensive for what they offer. $57 for just a Filet, sides charged a la carte; even an extra dish of butter was $8!! Go into town to MAGDY'S for a delicious Steakhouse! If you like occasional Casino gaming, drive to French Lick or Indy or even Northern Indiana--until they change/improve things, Terre Haute Casino should be a "Last Resort".
