Candlewood Suites Wichita Falls @ Maurine St. by IHG

Positive: Staff well trained and friendly. Exceptionally clean. Kitchen well stocked with silverware, dishes and pots. Bedroom had French doors so it was a great set up for people with different schedules. Bed was very comfortable. Negative: ""

Everything was clean, especially the bathroom. A little worn-down and banged up here and there. A bit dated, but you get what you pay for. Everything went well. Right by the highway so there is that noise. As a solo female traveler, I felt fine here.

Service was excellent. The young man at the front desk moved me to another room immediately when I encountered an issue in my original room. Although furniture in the room is a little worn and dated, credit must be given to the staff who take good care to keep all areas of the room clean and in good condition - the kitchenette, the bathroom, and the linens. I especially liked how well-appointed the layout of the room was. The kitchenette was roomy enough to store food and drinks for a two-night stay without taking away valuable space. Considering I had a first-floor room right across from the lobby, I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was. I heard some footsteps from the guest above me and slight freeway noise but not enough to disturb sleep.

Excellent place. Service straight to the point, clear, and professional. Room was literally a fully equipped apartment, with kitchenette and everything. Impecable, quiet, and pet friendly. Bedding and pillows extra soft and comfy (I’m very picky with it). Bathroom included plenty of Dove hand-wash, body cream, shampoo and conditioner. If you hesitate on staying because of the weird location, don’t be. It is absolutely worthy.

Super lovely! The room was spacious and very clean. Quiet and slept peacefully without waking which is rare for me. The kitchenette was very helpful and they have a lending locker if you need to borrow any additional items. We are reward members and they allowed each of us in our party to a free drink and snack from the pantry and a 15% discount to the Dennys next door due to them no longer providing breakfast. They also had a cart in the front while checking out with muffins, cakes, and juices that were also available for free to take in lieu of breakfast. The gym looked pretty decent as well and laundry is free. Just lots of nice little thoughtful touches! Would gladly stay again.

Sweet kind staff. Hotels have all been getting upgraded and they look awesome! Super clean. Unexpected bonus a free item from the Store pantry bc of our ihg status and everyone gets a coupon discount for dennys This chain is solid in all the states we have stayed… I like the full kitchen and large freezer/fridge Makes it nice to refreeze everything on long drives and keep foods cold. Best part is always the nice staff!! They hire like Chick-fil-A - solid kind employees

Arrived to a vacant front desk? Waited about ten minutes before the desk clerk showed. When we entered our room the first thing we noticed was the overwhelming smell of bleach. It was so bad you couldn’t breathe. My wife has asthma so we had to request a room change. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful with changing the rooms. The second room did smell as if the prior guest had cooked fish? Fish was better than bleach. We had been driving nonstop for a day and a half from California and we were exhausted. All we wanted was food, a shower and sleep. We went and ate and returned to shower. The water pressure is basically nonexistent here? Good thing we carry our own shower head with a filter! Changed it out and it was a little better but still not great like usually at Candlewood. When it was time to sleep we immediately realized that sleep would be little gotten, if any at all, due to the horrible condition of the mattress. Usually Candlewood has soft comfy beds and that is why we choose them. Not this time! This bed was so old and worn out you could feel all the springs in it, making for an awful sleepless night. We left super early due to not being able to sleep. Wish we had just kept driving. I also do not like the area this particular hotel is in. There’s not much around. There were a few unsavory looking characters hanging around the parking lot. The parking lot had crushed glass all over it. Almost like someone did it deliberately. The hotel is old and worn out and in dire need of a remodel. The lobby has an old musty smell. Definitely not somewhere I would stay again or recommend.
