Highland lounge is the best gay bar in Austin, the teams always take care of this patrons, and ensures a clean safe environment. If you have the opportunity to interact with Mark (aka the best bartender) Erika or Jaja then you’re in for a treat. You don’t want to miss out on the best drinks, tunes or vibes at highland. Everyone is always welcome no matter what!

Love this club. The main floor is big and gets packed after 11pm. Love the downstairs, it’s dark with lasers and different music. This place is so big I didn’t notice it had an outside. One of my favorite all time clubs.

I mean this is the place to go if you want to dance the night away and maybe get into a little fun trouble. But it always feels like the bartenders are preying on people here. Extra drinks I didn't order or even straight up gouging. Bought 4 drinks just simple vodka and soda and was charged 150 dollars everyone in the group ordered rounds and got charged differently.

I was targeted here as if I was involved in nefarious actions for looking like of mixed heritage in my opinion by the management/ staff. I have been hate crimed in multiple public spaces and I did not imagine that this would be another one. My sister was with me and we witnessed one of the employees following us after we left on July 5, 2025 for what seemed like 6 blocks. And then a guy in a black suv drove past me and smugly waved at me. These persons are organized abusers and do not belong in these spaces were people enter to live their personal lives.

My first time at Highland was a disappointment to say the least. The website seemed so promising for a gay bar in Texas, but it was the opposite. Was called the C-word trying to scoot past someone and was felt it was not a safe space for women. Oilcan Harry’s was super fun though and right down the street!

Here is what you need to know: - they will charge you $25 for cover, but give you no stamp ,no re-entry. I mean, the decorations are cool and all, but you can get them pretty easily on Amazon it’s not that impressive at the end of the day. Great eye for the vibe tho, kudos to that guy, who did that. If they would have let my partner and I step out for a cigarette and come back that would have made it much nicer, but the service we received made it pretty clear that this is a more of a soulless cash grab than a traditional gay bar. 1/10

Went there last night around 1 am and not even 10 minutes pass and we noticed my friends bag got opened all the way and the only thing missing was the phones..so much theft there. They need to add security or something to catch these people.
