I joined Jax Boat Club in May of 2025 and I have had an exceptional experience thus far. I contemplated joining the club for about year and I am so glad that I did. My family has enjoyed, cruising to the sand bars, water sports, and fishing, all with none of the headaches of owning a boat. Several times we would go just for a few hours and the dock hands make it so easy. My wife and kids have also enjoyed the pool at the marina all summer, going a few times a week. Curt is a fantastic owner, easy to reach with any issues and understands giving a 5 star experience. The only negative I would say is that some of the boats are dated and really under powered but Curt has mentioned they will be upgrading some of the boats in 2026. I look forward to many more years of club membership with Jax Boat Club! If your on the fence JOIN! Compared to boat ownership it is a fraction of the cost and way more enjoyable.
As a member for Nearly 9 years, we still go out on 40 trips per year! Captain Curt and his crew are always super helpful, and really make us feel special as members! The boats are very well maintained, and safe! Joining this club was one of the best decisions we’ve made! Highly highly recommend!
Been a member for about 4 years now and joining has been one of the best decisions I have made. Curt’s been great for the past year striving to make the club a great experience and consistently delivering. Moat importantly, i cant recall a time ever being unable to get a boat during the time I needed.
Pros: - as with any boat club, it’s is so much easier and less stressful than owning a boat. You don’t have to worry about cleaning, maintenance, using a boat ramp, or storage. - it is a local company run by very friendly folks. All of the deck hands are great too. - compared to all of the boat clubs in the area, this is the cheapest and the only one that doesn’t require a contract - you can quit at any time - fairly good availability of the boats. You can usually get one reserved if you plan a week or two in advance depending on the time of year Cons: - I know that boat clubs in general are not known for having pristine boats, but this club is particularly bad. I had a low level of anxiety pretty much the entire time I’d be on the water because there was something always wrong with any boat you’d get. Some would be nuisances like the sound system not working. Others were bigger problems like the boat not being able to go faster than 10 mph or the depth finder not working at all. The depth finder one was a big one for me and happened on a lot of their boats. I don’t know how you are supposed to be able to navigate around the sand bars without a functioning depth finder so it ruined a lot of trips for me. It was common for doors to not properly latch causing them to rattle and fly open constantly. Most electronics and gauges on the boats did not work properly. They had one flats fishing boat equipped with live wells, power pole, and trolling motor but the trolling motor was just about the only thing that actually worked. If you are big into fishing, you will be disappointed by these boats. The worst part is that if you complained about any of these issues, they wouldn’t do anything about it. The quality of the boats really started to go downhill towards the end which ultimately led to me quitting. It was always a little embarrassing to invite friends out on the boat with me and then take them out on a boat that seemed like it was going to breakdown at any minute. - There were some boats that were just always out of service. I remember one boat in particular was out of service the entire 18 months I was a member. I would ask about it occasionally and would always be told that it would be ready in a couple of weeks. It never was. This is borderline false advertising because it looks like a really nice boat and they told me that it was going to be ready soon when I first toured before signing up. - Like I said, these boats weren’t great for fishing which left you with three options: Cruise to the sand bars at Ft. George, cruise to one of three restaurants that had a dock, or go tubing. I never tried the third option so I’m not sure how that is but the first two options got kind of boring after a year.
New owner makes the biggest difference! He’s worked for the previous owners and he cares about the members and condition of the boats. They made huge upgrades on what we’ve wanted for our days we go out. My husband and I are so happy at jax boat club
All their boats are missing something. Missing anchors, seats ripped, no life jackets, broken doors, and engine issues. Unsafe and owners are arrogant on members skill levels and blame their paying members instead of taking ownership and fixing said issues. Really a shame after being with the company for over 5 years. Highly do not recommend until the owners step up and keep their members safe and enjoying their time on the water.
This is a great place for you if you love boating. I own a boat and I am a member of the club as well. I have gone boating more from the time I joined than I have on my own boat during the last year. The staff is great and the boats are prefect. No clean up time!!!!! and no boat ramps!!!!
