The Woods

📍 Leather bars in Brooklyn

7.8

The Woods in Brooklyn stands out as a lively spot blending social energy and laid-back charm within the leather bar scene. Known for its engaging atmosphere, it offers a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, making it ideal for groups or dates seeking both conversation and movement. The venue has long been praised for its welcoming vibe, where attentive staff and a well-curated drink menu—including standout cocktails—enhance the experience.

While its reputation has shifted due to recent layout changes, the core appeal remains in its inclusive and dynamic setting. Security and a respectful crowd contribute to a comfortable environment, though the loss of its iconic dance floor has left some longing for the original layout. Still, the bar’s ability to adapt and deliver memorable moments—especially with its friendly bartenders—keeps it a noteworthy destination for Brooklyn nightlife.

Putting a pool table on one of the best dance floors in NYC is truly one of the dumbest decisions I've seen. This is from both a customer and hospitality professionals point of view. Drinks were always meh. The DJs and the yard is what brought people in. Now, it's terrible. Do not go until they revert.

The Espresso Martini has become a NYC favorite and I don't think its going anywhere anytime soon. However throughout my years of traveling bars restaurants I've noticed there are bartenders and they are mixologists

Went last Halloweekend. Not a bad place in concept, but the men who were there made my friend group incredibly uncomfortable. Full on grabbing girls to demand their attention. Do not go here alone for your safety. However, the bartender was sweet and playful with our group plus the shots weren't bad. Hopefully the crowd is more respectful of women during regular weekends.

The Woods used to be an enjoyable venue with a decent-sized dance floor and a DJ. While the DJ remains, the decision to place a large pool table in the center of what was formerly the dance floor is genuinely baffling. I brought my group here expecting the same fun, dance-friendly environment, but unfortunately that is no longer the case.

I had one of the best, most random nights ever in this bar! Was in town last week, was out walking through Brooklyn, and randomly popped into this little spot. Completely dead except for one person at the bar... because it was about 530pm on a Thursday. Fine by me! I'm well past the party age at this point. (To be clear, this place is normally hopping. I just happened to be there at the perfect time for me haha). Bartender Ferg was awesome...once he saw me. (Haha Ferg, I kid! I kid! You were truly great!) Ferg was great to talk to, provided great service, and really made me feel welcome. Honestly, I had the best time ever here. Met some great local guys and had great drinks and conversations. These guys happened to be local liquor and beer reps who were there hanging out and bought me a couple of drinks! Like Ferg told me, I really was there at the right time that night. I love this place. Fantastic vibes and hope to visit again. I'm probably older than the normal crowd, but I had one of the most memorable, random nights of my life here, and I had to give a shout out for a great NYC memory. 👍

Used to be the spot to go on a date ,flirt and dance . Sadly they put a large pool table in middle of the dance floor . The dance floor used to be my main attraction . Their drinks are basic .

This place is a gem. Drink prices are really affordable. The vibe was such an experience. A place to dance and a place to chill in their outdoor section and eat. Fantastic place to go with friends or dates! It actually has to be one of the best bars I’ve been too. LBGT friendly and security was good.
