A nice and affordable bar in downtown Buffalo, New York. Nice theater and classic movie decor. It’s not loud like a lot of bars Highly recommend coming here

Went with the Young Black Professionals of WNY Meetup group for happy hour and despite our large group, we all have excellent service from the staff. Enjoyed the overall vibe and aesthetic of this being a bar in the theater district which was cool. I got the Wednesday special which was $20 for the pizza of the week, beer, and a house shot. Overall a really great value and the pizza was really yummy. I also tried two different cocktails to get a sense of their crafting. One was simple and just bourbon with apple cider which you can get hot or cold, and the Matinee mule which the bartender indicated was their most popular cocktail. Both were well made and tasted great. Overall, this was a really great spot and definitely look forward to going again in the future!

As a theater industry-centric drink spot, Matinee is where you'll find the who's who of Buffalo Arts and Entertainment. Their beer/wine-only drink offerings may leave cocktail lovers wanting, but the bar staff all have an excellent knowledge of the extensive beer list at their disposal, and can make a recommendation to suit any taste.

I dont even want to review this place because i dont want anyone to know abput it. Well made dribks. Bartender axel looks like my almost step dad and mixes a killer drink. Improved whiskey cocktail is the Truth. Atmosphere is adorable, with a silent film theme and with a relaxed lounge feel. Rush here after a show or it will be packed!
