Murphy's Tavern

Murphy's Tavern has been a cordial and familiar institution since I arrived in 1978. A true neighborhood bar and welcoming beer stop. Having Travelli's Sub shop next door contributed to the enjoyment of a cold beer and great sub sandwich. HOWEVER, much of my great memories of the Tavern changed on December 5, 2025. My wife and I had just returned from South America and a friend brought us to Murphy's for a sub and suds before going home. We bought our beers carried them to a booth sat down to enjoy: not much joy in Murphy's. The few (6-7) patrons spoke loudly, and a few, in vulgar, demeaning and very crude language. No one made any attempt to temper down two of the especially vocal men. Even the bar attendant seemed to encourage the loud, vulgar behavior. After the one MOST obnoxious and crude man finally left, we finished and began to leave. I paused to leave a very appropriate tip, in spite of all that had transpired. The server scooped her tip, with no "thank you" nor cordial goodbye, and returned to her discourtious patrons. We three simply laughed about how improper that experience was! I finally decided to write this review. I've always had such good times and had friends who worked at the Tavern. Guess now it's time to move on to a more cordial and friendlier meeting spot. Adiós Murphy's!

What a great spot to meet new friends and have some good laughs!! But what makes this place 5 stars is the service. Ashley is an awesome bartender and literally knows what each person drinks when they walk in the door. I've never experienced that before. Ashley and Jerod are why I keep coming back, and it doesn't hurt that I've made some new friends at Murphy's!! Bonus: Santi Davila's music has blown the roof off of Thursday nights in June.

I came here late to hang out and the vibes were phenomenal. I didn’t wanna leave, and the bartender Ali was super funny. Highly recommend stopping in.

Last weekend my husband and I made the drive down to the Springs to see one of our favorite artists, Adam Hood, perform at Murphy's Tavern. It is a very nice, clean and fun venue that makes you feel like the artist is singing right to you. The staff was very friendly and they always made sure our iced cold beer was full. The best part was the owner and how excited he was that we had made the drive down to see the show. Great little venue/bar and even better people, can not wait to see who they bring in next!!! 10/10 would recommend.

Friendly neighborhood bar with great live music on weekends and a wonderful, attentive staff!

This little local place has "it" figured out! Great service, good conversation and the sandwiches from next door are fantastic. Be sure to add a pickle.

I stopped by here on September 1’st, 2022 for the first time. I came out specifically for karaoke 🎤 and I had a blast! Great staff and good vibes! Very friendly place!
