Went there for the first time this evening on a date. We each ordered different specials and both were absolutely phenomenal! I had the tilapia with pineapple salsa(also came with a baked potato, broccoli, a bread stick, and another dipping sauce). He had the Cajun walleye bites and hushpuppies. We were both pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is good, but the food is amazing. I'd give that tilapia dish 10 stars if I could! Sad I didn't take photos! It was pretty too! Plated very well.
Update: still love this bar, perfect location, good vibes, Florida style bar, open and inviting, but still need to rehaul menu. $13 for a burger that doesn’t include fries and have to upcharge for $3.50 is crazy. So $16.50 for a burger and fries in Erie? lol might as well be a tourist spot then. there’s $8 burger and fries specials at other bars in Erie. If you want a regular crowd, which is possible, ya gotta have regular prices. Aside from that great service. Bartender really polite. Would love to be back on the reg as I’m at the peninsula constantly. There’s really no competition here- closed joe roots years ago (major shame) and other than that it’s Applebees and ridiculous overpriced tacky Romas. Original: Almost got 5 stars! Which is very rare for me. Great specials especially tonight ($23 for a large pizza, 10 boneless and pitcher of Miller lite) pizza was great. More of a thin crust. Wings and sauces 10x better than Buffalo Wild Wings. Very saucy. Got the Ugly flavor and the Jack Blaze. Sooo good. Server was cool about splitting flavors per order. Food came out quick and our server Lindz was top notch polite and on top of things. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Small inside, but enough space to watch the game. Good crowd. Had game on and audio which is awesome. Although right speaker was fuzzy and muffled. Need to check that out. Could use at least one more TV on back wall. Love the fireplace. Docked a star for the 3% tacked on Service charge for all non cash payments and pricey Yuenling at $4 a short draft. Typically $2-$3 other bars depending. And fries not included in burger or sandwich price. Must add on. Overall a solid place and will be back.
We visited the Ugly Tuna today after a poor customer service experience at another popular local wing joint that lead us to walk out before even placing a beverage order. I’m so glad we did, because this place is great! The bartender (don’t recall her name but a super sweet blonde lady) was very welcoming and helpful. The beer was cold and the wings were good. The crabcake sandwich was great and the fries were extra crunchy. Great playlist and plenty of TVs to watch a game. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town! Thank you for an excellent experience.
Can't say much. Stopped in for a late lunch and the person behind the bar never acknowledged us nor asked if we wanted anything. Possibly they are used to people approaching them and getting their attention? Hopefully it's not the norm, but did think it was strange. Can't judge the food or atmosphere because we didn't stay. It was recommended by a local so I'm guessing it's good? Hopefully you have a better experience 🙂
Excellent food. Wings are awesome. Try their pepperoni balls if you haven’t had them. Ownership is fantastic.
The burger I ordered is clearly a pre made, frozen patty from a box or bag. It wasn't very appealing or appetizing, and very greasy. It had a flavor of lighter fluid that wasn't completely burned off charcoal, is the only way I can explain it. The waitress was very nice and did well. I had a side of hush puppies that I found very good. I had a couple of the electric tuna drinks that were amazing. The live music outside was terrible, couldn't sing whatsoever. If I was to go back to the area, I wouldn't pick this place again
Angela was a great server! Attentive and extra kind to our dog! We sat and ate out on the patio. Very nice ambience. Food was good. I love that they have a menu for dogs! Also I’m including photos of an updated menu, since it appears the others are outdated (they no longer serve scallops ) I would like to come back when we are in town again! I The appetizers were the best (ahi tuna steaks, and poutine tots)!! For our meal, I got the chicken club (a little dry), my husband got the "wiener special" and said the sauce was rather sweet, and my daughter got the Philly cheesesteak, which she said was fine. All in all a very nice visit!
