Hobby Lobby

Always exciting to go into hobby lobby. This branch is pretty much like all the others. Cute, and hard to leave. Always a good variety of random craft items and decor. Staff are kind--this last December 2025 one staff member even gave me a free Christmas book upon checkout.

I was in the Independence MO store today in the afternoon. When I arrived there were NO shopping carts available. The greeter casually suggested I use a hand basket like it was as good as a cart! I am 64 yrs old and I do not appreciate any suggestion that I lug merchandise all over the huge store. Instead I waited for another customer's cart. What is ridiculous is that I could see that all the carts were either holding discounted merchandise or employees were using SHOPPING carts as STOCKING MERCHANDISE carts!!! Just because of that I would give (1) star. I actually was in the store to buy fabric. I certainly could NOT FIT FABRIC BOLTS IN A HANDHELD BASKET!!! BUT, the employee BRENDA in the fabric department was sooo very helpful and professional. SHE ALONE deserves (5) stars. Upon leaving the store the manager was near the registers so I told him that BRENDA IS AN ABSOLUTE GEM OF AN EMPLOYEE. I sincerely hope she & the gal who checked me out are treated as valuable assets of Hobby Lobby.

Wide selection of products. Super helpful and friendly staff. I enjoy shopping here. It's a bit pricey, so you must look out for deals and sales for the week. Otherwise, great experience!

Terrible service. We sat in line over 10 minutes, moved between three different registers. Once we got to the front, the employee argued with me over the pricing for an item. She pulled it up online and didn't listen when I told her she had the wrong item, the dimensions were completely different. She would not listen to what I was saying and flat out refused to send one of the two employees standing up front doing nothing to check on prices in the aisle. We ended up leaving multiple items cause they rung up different and that employee would not assist us. There are employees standing up front chit chatting when the lines are 5+ deep, refusing to come up and assist employees on the registers, and ignoring when others were trying to get them to price check. By far the worst hobby lobby I've been to.

This location has lot of empty shelves. There were 2 cashiers and both lines were very long (i was in kine for 15 minutes. There were other employees walking around but never called to help. The store managerwas at the front of the store but never spoke to any of the customers coming or going nor did he help with the long lines, he did nothing.

Loved being followed then come on inside. I had not one but three employees follow me. Then was stopped after I made my purchase to no avail I paid for my markers. So nothing was stolen just my time waisted

I love Hobby Lobby! Tons of sales. Check adds and shop what you want on 50% off weeks. I went last week and bought a ton of wreath supplies. Their wreath mesh and ribbon were on sale. Their Christmas stuff was already on a HUGE sale. I could spend hours in this store! Anyway, I made some really cute wreaths with all my new supplies!
