A Bar of Their Own

3.5/5. We visited early evening on a Sunday. It was fairly busy but we found a few seats at the bar. It’s a smaller place but the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. We were informed that they were out of several food items. We ordered the nachos, turkey burger, and a few drinks. The food was incredible. The nachos have a black bean hummus on it that was surprisingly bright and so flavorful. The queso is dreamy and every chip was crispy and covered in toppings. The turkey burger was nice and juicy. Yum!! The only drawbacks were the semi-uncomfortable bar stools, tots were a little bland, and the drinks. All the mixers (club soda, Diet Coke, ginger ale), tasted kind of flat. The parking is street parking only. It is a sports bar so it can get noisy. I would go back if I was in the neighborhood.

Such a cool sports bar. An impressive amount of interesting memorabilia cover the walls - I spent at least 20 minutes checking out every autograph, photo, jersey, and bobblehead in the place. Good, unique beer available with some fun cocktails too. A Bar of Their Own has a fun and welcoming vibe. We got to meet the owner who was great! I was enamored with some of the Unrivaled pieces on display so the owner sent me home with a bunch of temporary tattoos which was very kind. We came here in the middle of the afternoon from out of town to check it out and really enjoyed ourselves. I can’t imagine how fun the atmosphere must be with a big game on the screens. Worth a stop for any sports fan - we’ll be back next time we’re in Minnesota.

My wife and I LOVE ABOTO. Super friendly place, have loved all the food, and their cocktails are always fun. The Minnesotan in me would request homemade ranch but this is our favorite local spot and we’ll be there for Frost games. Plus, a great place to bring friends to watch the game together or just catch up!

Where to begin? One of my favorite haunts. Excellent service with elevated bar menu. The wings. THE WINGS. Get the dry rub and thank me later. The largest NA drink menu in town. Weekly trivia, fun community events, values based business. I can’t recommend it enough.

I’m SO glad that I stopped here during my visit to Minneapolis!! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, welcoming everyone in who came through the door. The sports decor in here is incredible and their beer tap list was amazing! The best place to watch women’s sports!! Can’t wait to come back here the next time I’m in town.

The McBride Espresso Martini featuring Du Nord’s Café Frieda Coffee Liqueur is so delicious! And the entire bar team is so amazing - the hospitality is outstanding! As a proud member of Team Du Nord, I am proud to see this local collaboration in action!

10s across the board! I was able to check it out opening weekend! It’s clear this bar is built with love and intentionality. Had about an hour wait, but killed the time by visiting nearby businesses! Everything from the service, food, and drinks was spectacular! Even though it was busy we got our food quickly and we were checked in on frequently. Jillian, the owner, was putting in the work and on the floor mingling/working with the rest of the staff. It was amazing to experience a safe, welcoming, fun environment to enjoy women’s sports. If you live here, this should be your new neighborhood bar. If you’re visiting, this should be on your MN bucket list. OH, and for my fellow celiacs the menu had SO many gf options!
