I LOVE this place. I appreciate that it feels like a honky tonk that values music and it's not like one of the newer venues with strobe lights everywhere and overpriced drinks. The bands were great!!!
I booked the "Instructor-Led Line Dancing Class with Souvenir Video" at Bootleggers Inn, and it turned out to be a fun, confidence-boosting experience. Our instructor, Jason Robinson, had an easy-going yet tactical approach that made the class enjoyable for all skill levels. Before class, you can grab a drink downstairs — just remember to bring your ID regardless of age. A little liquid courage doesn’t hurt, especially for non-dancers like me (and yes, even if you don’t think line dancing counts as dancing, it still helps!). I really appreciated how Jason allowed the group to vote on the songs twice, giving everyone a say. He also scaffolded the sequence of steps in a way that built confidence gradually. As someone who doesn’t naturally learn through movement, I definitely struggled at first — but Jason created a safe, encouraging space while still nudging us out of our comfort zones. By the end, I had not only learned several line-dancing combinations but also gained a new sense of ease and joy in trying something unfamiliar. It was a learning experience that was engaging without feeling intimidating. Highly recommend, especially if you want to laugh, move, and take home a fun souvenir video! (Eventually).
Came here as a guest for friends Bday outing for Line dancing lesson. It was MORE fun than I thought it would be. 2 young ladies taught the class one on the stage up front and 1 that visited us in the middle in the back so there was always someone near us, willing to help us. Not a very large place, but did not need to be. We were on the wnd floor of the bar, taking the lessons. Think it was a Friday or Saturday around midday. Genuinely had a lot of fun and would absolutely do it again.
We popped in becuase it looked quieter than some of the bars booming out music and it was perfect for what we were looking for. A solo guitarist was playing and the music was great. No drinks offers on while we were there but we enjoyed listening and the ambience
My husband and I decided to visit this bar for a line dancing class we had signed up for. While waiting for the class to begin, we grabbed drinks at the bar, buzzing with excellent live music. The drinks were fantastic, adding to the lively atmosphere. When it was time, we headed upstairs, where the class was held—and it was exceptional! We had such a great time, and the energy was infectious. I think everyone should try it at least once—it’s a blast!
It's a moonshine bar but there are other drinks sold, found this a good retreat as was less popular, getting seats easier, why it's not so busy was hard to fathom as pair playing were excellent and some good trad music, great little bar Don't be put off thinking it's all moonshine, it isnt
Cross an old school (quasi) dive bar, with modern Broadway live music feel, in a down-home, welcoming atmosphere and you have Bootleggers. It's locales towards the tail end of Broadway, but was my favorite bar. Their drink prices are far more reasonable than the other more corporate bars. Definitely worth a stop. They have dozens of flavors of moonshine to try too!
