Dockside Bar & Grill

I just want to leave this place a good review because it is freaking awesome. All the people upset because it is a smoking bar and they can’t order a margarita here have soft hands and need to go back to Ruby Tuesdays. Staff are great and always welcoming. Pool is cheap and jukebox works great. I wish every bar could be like Dockside

Like others here, we walked in, had a beer, and quickly left. There is an incredibly dark vibe, with crotchety old (some young, too) regulars who chain smoke and watch each other and you. There was a loud confrontation between a bartender and a regular, which made things incredibly uncomfortable. To have a bartender screaming and to have such a smart mouth. The patron didn't deserve it. Besides the vibe, it is very dark and smoky. We were going to order some wings until the person next to us simply said, "Don't." Dive or not, this one you can skip. It is simply too much.

A classic hole in the wall kind of place. If you go twice you're a regular and the bar staff will never treat you any other way. Cheap drinks and pool tables, jukebox full of music and you can't go wrong with fries chicken strips and fries.

One of thee best hole in the wall spots Norfolk Va has ever seen. But sadly, all good things must come to an end… as of early April the bar had been temporarily closed due to new ownership and remodeling. When will they be back up and running? Who knows… but I just want to say the original dockside will be greatly missed!!

Great bar to go hang out. Right down the road from me, so it’s super convenient. I love going here and playing pool or slots. They have new slots and old slots so you can take your pick. Two pool tables, and a quarter machine. Lol. Drinks are cheap and food is cheap— and tasty. They have an ATM and a vending machine. They have all your basics and that’s really all you need. I like that they actually allow smoking inside. I like to vape inside, so it’s a plus for me. You definitely get some different characters in here, ha! Staff is fun.. and nice! Keep it up y’all! 🙂

This place is by far the best bar in Norfolk. I've been coming here since 2013 and i will not step foot in another establishment besides Dockside Bar and Grill. The staff is amazing, the drinks are cold and very much affordable and the food doesn't get much better. If you're looking for a bar with a solid atmosphere, Dockside is the place. Man i love this bar!

For a Friday night it wasn't super busy (I found spot at the bar with at least two seats on either side) plus they were doing karaoke! Which is always fun no matter what level of drunk you are. My bartender (Bobbie) was amazing. Even after getting bad tips (which I, unfortunately, witnessed) she was as friendly and charismatic as ever! Definitely five stars, and this was my first time here. Will be coming back for sure! Thank you Bobbie, for bing such a wonderful attentive bartender!
