Always fun at 440 Castro! Great deals on drinks! Also, chill place, has good music, and awesome bartenders. Shoutout to our guys Tony (aka "daddy" as we had called him) and Kieth. Thank you for taking care of us. 440 Castro has been our go-to gay bar whenever we visit San Francisco. Not too big, not too small. It's just right. We plan to return sometime soon.

This place is great. From the bartenders in the front bar to the drinks. If you want to see a little bit of beauty step through the curtains and enjoy the experience of the bar in the back. The bartenders are wearing little and serving up a lot. The place is plump with franks enjoying the drinks. It was my first time there and on Monday night it was jumping. I highly recommend it for the $6 drafts and the manly views! Enjoy yourself!

440 is a Castro staple, particularly if you are a man of a certain age. My experience is that when I go to bars with a younger crowd I am treated like some sort of old perv, although I myself am not into younger guys. If you wanna go someplace where folks will talk to you, maybe even flirt with you or grope you as you squeeze through the crowd, then this is the spot. They are NOT going to produce a spectacular cocktail for you, so I suggest a simple drink or a beer.

This has become one of our favorite bars when visiting the city. Often they have good week day specials (listed inside) and fun theme nights. So many bars in this area (thankfully they are still around) all with different vibes. We find that we usually go here and the Mix when visiting this area.

$3 beer and gender neutral bathrooms were amazing !! (5 star). However… My partner and I (queer women) experienced pretty obvious sexism from bar staff who ignored us and made us feel very unwelcome in what is supposed to be an accepting queer friendly safe space

Love this place. Vacationing in SF and while visiting Castro district decided to take advantage of happy hour. Love love love it. I feel like at home aka NYC. Bartender is amazing, friendly and sexy. The crowd is cool and relaxed. Ame during the day. Maybe at night this place gets wild. Might stay to see the action. Haha. #thumbsup
