If you’re in the mood for a sophisticated yet friendly wine bar experience, A2 is where to be! On Friday night, they had a Gypsy jazz duo playing live music, which really added to the ambiance of our wine and charcuterie experience. The flight pours were generous and the presentation of the wine was unique to each flight. The Mediterranean board was large and served our party of four beautifully. The owner also provided an extra pour of the wine we enjoyed most from our flight, which was a nice surprise! We had so much fun at this spot, we spent a total of 4 hours just sipping and enjoying ourselves. Don’t miss this place!

We checked out this new wine bar in downtown San Mateo! I love the ambience of this place- it’s warm, woody and cozy. And I especially enjoyed the board with hot Camembert and honey. They have live music on Saturday evenings, and the atmosphere is beautiful!

Adorable new wine bar! I love the atmosphere, it is elegant and classy. It’s not loud like the dirty bars, and you can peacefully chat with your friends without having to shout. Wine here is good, but they don’t have non-alcoholic drink options right now except for sparkling water. Charcuterie board is great. The only time it is a bit louder is when they have live music on Fridays/Saturdays! The musicians are always incredible here.

Love having this wine bar in downtown San Mateo! Annie is incredibly kind and thoughtful. Service and ambience are chill. I LOVE working and reading while having a nice glass of wine. Would highly recommend!!
