Customer Reviews
Bar Rosso has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 based on over 457 reviews on Google
Went for an event. Our host booked the upstairs space right at top of stairs. There was a small makeshift bar just for us,and our own bathroom. the ladies making the drinks also had menus for us to order food and they brought it up to us. That was great! Also allowed us to run a tab. The music was nice . I was able to hold a conversation. I ordered the octopus appetizer as my dish. Man I could of gotten two of those, it was so good. There's outdoor seating and they had a nice fire pit outside as well. I could see going here again. Parking was horrendous, but that's Stamford. As for Bedford street just forget about it - and the lot across the street from the bat was full - so I found street parking on summer street and walked over. So ovwoulf suggest that.
You have to really like rosemary to eat here. The chicken wings are not recommended not seasoned. The tuna tartare is amazing and the pizza was good but garlic is needed. I would return the food isn’t great burgers were a fail taste like oil and water. Chicken sandwich is frozen chicken cooked twice tastes like water.
I’ve been wanting to try Bar Rosso for a while — the menu and ambiance always looked amazing. We specifically chose it for brunch because their website promotes bottomless mimosas, which sounded like a fun experience. However, when we arrived, we were told they were not offering bottomless mimosas, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, the service also didn’t live up to expectations. After being seated, my husband waited about 20 minutes just to get a server to come over so we could order drinks. When we were finally able to place an order, we were told that the person helping us only handled drinks and that someone else would need to come take our food order. We ended up waiting even longer after that, and a table seated after us received their drinks before we did. At that point, we decided to leave. The space and concept seem great, but between the inaccurate promotion and the lack of service, the experience was really disappointing. I hope it was just an off day.
I went for Saturday morning brunch and we were the only table so you think we’d have excellent service right? Wrong! The waiters were busy watching soccer on the tv and we waited 30 minutes until I got fed up and had to call them over to order. Then, the food took another 30 minutes to arrive. Mind you, it was a table of 4 people and we were the only people in the whole restaurant. It was a whole hour from sitting down to getting food which is ridiculous when you have full wait staff and cooks. I got the breakfast pizza and it was sad, just a singular egg and some spinach that honestly tasted expired. My friends at least liked their food. After all this, they overcharged me $25 for the pizza when it should have been $19. I’m not interested in going back after this. The only positive is that the ambience was nice while I chatted with my friends for an hour waiting to eat but the experience ruined it for us. Go at your own risk.
Food: The food was really just ok. Nothing really amazed me and some of the food was very unseasoned. Their lobster ravioli and shrimp was also very lack luster and only gave one shrimp that was chopped up. If you want to get food I would just get the appetizers and skip the main courses. However, the drinks were great so I would definitely go back to grab a cocktail. Service: Our waitress was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Ambiance: It's very standard but they do have a cute patio area and large windows that open up which is nice. Overall: I wouldn't be running back here but if I'm in the area and want to grab a nice cocktail and some appetizers then I would consider them.
Great food, even better drinks. We sat outside. There was live music playing inside, that we could hear because of the large open entryway but there was also music playing on the speakers outside - wish the restaurant chose to play one or the other. Food was great, the orecchiette was very spicy but yummy. We started with the calamari which was fantastic. I got the champagne poetry drink - amazing! And my friend had the blackberry whiskey sour. The foam tasted like candy and he was a huge fan of the drink. Service was slow and inattentive. Our waiter didn’t seem to know a lot about the menu. Otherwise, a good meal and will definitely go back.
I went to brunch not expecting much, as it is a known happy hour spot that attracts younger crowds and usually pretty busy. Well, I finally went today and I’m mad for not going to this place sooner!!! Brunch food was fantastic, steak and eggs on the brunch menu is actually the most succulent steak I’ve ever had and can’t beat that price. The wait staff, manager, even the cooks are so friendly. Eggnog espresso martini says seasonal but practically available all year round. One of the best martinis I’ve had! I’ll be back ALOT. If you see a 6 ft black female solo at the bar, that’s just me living my best life.
