Iron Horse saloon waterloo

I stopped in during Pride with my Psychiatric Service Animal. I was not drinking, but was with friends who were. My Service Animal is Sal, a large, well groomed Standard Poodle. I was standing at the bar, with Sal directly next to me. He was leaning against me, providing deep pressure therapy (DPT) to prevent an oncoming anxiety attack. In under 5 minutes, I was approached by a large man, who immediately started to angrily tell me Sal could not be there unless he was a Service Dog. I stated that he is my Service Dog. This made the man more irritated, he raised his voice and demanded to see Sal’s certification. I again stated Sal is my Service dog, this time adding that there is no certification for a Service Animal. He said it didn’t matter and unless I showed him I had to leave. At this point I asked my friend for the Waterloo PD non-emergency number, and when I didn’t quickly find it, the man told me it wasn’t necessary as there was an officer just outside. I agreed to follow the man out to talk with the officer. When we arrived outside there was no officer, and the man said he would go find one. I waited for 5 + minutes, Sal standing by my side. My anxiety attack was full-blown at that point and I leaned on Sal as I often do when I get light-headed and dizzy, relying on Sal to help me balance. When the man finally arrived back, I was told something along the lines of I could go back in but Sal needed to be seated next to me at all times. At this point another large man had approached us and said he was the manager, or the owner? We re-entered the bar for a short time as my friends finished their drink. I sat in a stool at the bar, with Sal laying down, curled up next to me so as not to be in the way. I will never be back to this bar. They may want to brush up on the ADA, and how to approach someone with a Service Animal.

Love coming here! Cold beer and well made drinks! Tracy always takes great care of her coustmers! And she’s the best lookin in town ‍♂️ ‍♂️ I think the bar could play a little more country music! Or make it so the bartender can control it a little better.

Some of the regulars keep being very predatory towards others and keep being allowed to do so and keep returning. Also one of the bartenders takes away drinks far too early. The almost full drink my partner had and had paid for was taken away because of this bartender (who ONLY took away their drink when our whole table was very clearly still present and had our belongings on the table). That same bartender has rummaged through my personal belongings before too. It's a great place but some people- staff or otherwise- can definitely ruin the night sometimes..

This bar is the place to go for a great night out. Awesome service, and the atmosphere is perfect to have a good night. Pro tip: Tracy makes the best drinks and is such a funny and sweet lady. You can chat with her and you will not leave without a laugh, smile or smirk of sorts. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot. You won't regret it.

Being able to recognize the bartender as I walked in definitely made it easier for me to be more receptive to a younger and a more upscale. Crowd, then I'm used. Just Like at the other bar where my man works my drink was on point. The bar wasn't at its capacity. When I was there, but everybody inside had a place to sit eithet at the bar itself a table along the back wall, There is also an outside seating on along a cobblestone paved sidewalk. Since I had never been inside the place I didn't expect to stay all that much. But along with. A Mixed drink a bag of pretzels and 10 bucks on A few video game machines, I was there long enough to Say that I enjoyed my experience at the iron horse saloon.

Cold beer, good conversations. This place is the nicest bar in town. My wife and I were recommended this establishment by friends. We will always go there first over all the other bars on the block. The vibe is welcoming, and fun. The bartender, Tracy really makes the place what it is. We’ve been there when other barkeepers are working. Won’t name names, but NOT THE SAME LEVEL. Tracy always keep the riff raff out, and keeps the good patrons there and coming back. She always has a smile and will engage in intelligent and uplifting conversations. She pours great drinks and she always keeps the establishment clean and inviting. She plays good music that is geared towards the vibe of the place. If you give her a little extra tip she’ll play a request. She really is the reason my wife and I come here for our date nights. Keep up the great work Tracy, we really appreciate your kindness and hard work. ⭐️⭐️ for food because they don’t have food but allow us to bring outside food and Tracy will go out of her way to get plates or forks if needed. ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ for atmosphere because the bartender really needs to have more control of music if there isn’t a jukebox Tracy really knows her customers and what "they" want to hear. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tracy’s customer service and attitude is really second to none. Lacy and I hope the owners of the place recognize who they have. Everyone else could take a lesson or two from this young lady.

I had a fantastic experience at the Saloon, and a big part of that was thanks to Cierra, the bartender. Her service was top-notch, and she mixed some of the best cocktails I've ever tasted. Cierra's friendly and attentive demeanor added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. I highly recommend visiting this saloon for a great time with excellent drinks and service.
