It was super busy today due to the AFP conference at the Menino Conference center. But the bartender handled it well. Pizza and drinks were ok. It’s a casual and dimly lit venue and can handle big crowds.
Very cool! Loved the vibe, service, food. Order the pork belly bao buns, cauliflower, mac & cheese and pork dumplings! Thanks Julian for the great service. Our team were exhausted from our first day conference and starving! We were energized by the wonderful dinner, your attention to detail and the lounge ambiance + live music!
Great food, drinks, live music, and conversation! I enjoyed everything about this place. I will definitely be back to see "Brady," the bartender (inside joke).
Once upon a time Lucky's was the place to be. I don't know if that is still the case as I am not trendy anymore. BUT I can tell you the empanadas are so da(m)n good! And Manny (Emanuel) pours a fantastic Margarita.
I had been to this establishment before and had a positive experience. However, the most recent time I went I had a very poor experience that left so much of a sour taste in my mouth that I had to leave immediately. We started our night at the bar, the bartender was so so lovely. We ordered 2 drinks, paid and tipped well in cash, before deciding that we wanted to sit at a table (not to eat, just drinks). The waiter we had was inattentive, and honestly her service to us was subpar to begin with. When the check came we didn’t want to tip on the card so we left her a cash tip. She perhaps didn’t see the cash at the end of the table, but regardless proceeded to tell the table next to us that "these people have never worked a day of their lives in the restaurant industry, they tipped me a dollar." I know that she did this because a few minutes later, a woman sitting at the table next to us tapped me and said "so why would you give her a $1 tip??? Have you never worked in the restaurant industry?" I was so taken aback for several reasons: 1) while tipping is customary, if you give bad service you shouldn’t automatically expect a good tip, 2) we did tip her and it wasn’t just $1- it was $10 on a $50 bill, 3) to speak about another table and how much or how little they tipped to ANOTHER table is wildly inappropriate and unprofessional. One of the people in our party actually does work in the restaurant industry so this assumption the waiter made about us without knowing context was judgmental and presumptuous. I immediately got up and left the establishment with no plans to ever return.
Upscale dive bar?! I been coming here a few times over the last few years for drinks with coworkers. Always friendly. Tonight had a double smash burger. Fam. It was 12/10. One of the best burgers I've ever had Thank you Lucky's! I will be back!
I live about a 3 minute walk from this place. Lucky's is a fun place. They have a Comedy show and Trivia. I hadn't eaten there until a few weeks ago. The Calamari was good. I only eat Seafood and Poultry so I was surprised at the quality. Now..... Now... Ok, for, me, this place; I would frequent at least Weekly. It's a MAJOR bummer because of the smell there that comes from the Bathrooms. I had to hold my breath several times, the one time that I ate there. It was gross. I would never eat there again. I did go there again, didn't eat, just watched a show at The Bar, but, same smell. That being said, after I get off of work, sometimes I feel like going out, but, not driving or getting really dressed up, just wanting to go to a nice Neighborhood spot. Last Monday, I thought, OH! Lucky's.. then remembered the smell. I just didn't end up going. Lucky's.... Maybe contact Boston Water and Sewer? Complain to The Landlord, Building Management? You're loosing money because of that smell....
