Customer Reviews
Pacific Coast Spirits Kitchen and Tasting Room has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on over 267 reviews on Google
We had a dinner reservation for 12 women celebrating a 50th birthday. We originally expected a waterfront venue and were a little overdressed for the setting—our mistake, not the restaurant’s. At first, we thought about going somewhere fancier. Taylor, our server, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and efficient. Jack, the owner, kindly came over and even suggested some upscale spots on the water. In the end, we decided to stay, and we’re glad we did. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. If you're in Oceanside, definitely check out The Mill Room.
We’ve been to Pacific Coast Spirits and Kitchen a few times now. I think their happy hour is quite strong with the Pork Belly bites at a 10$ price point. The Mac and cheese is delightfully creamy and has a good mix of textures. The Brussels are crispy and well seasoned. We tried brunch today and it seemed like they were a bit understaffed. I had the breakfast plate which had pork belly, two fried eggs, fried potatoes, and four pieces of sourdough. They didn’t have any real jelly (only a Serrano jelly from another dish) which was a bit disappointing with so much bread on my plate. It was a bit underwhelming as a dish. The 5$ Micheladas were good though. My husband had the chicken and biscuit - the chicken was well seasoned, the batter was crispy. The biscuit was a bit dry and a little undercooked in the middle. Our friend had the chilequilles - the texture was good, the carnitas were a necessary addition, and the sauce was a bit spicy / creamy. Overall about a 7/10. Our first experience here was fabulous so we will give it another shot, but brunch was a bit mediocre for the expectation that I had from our first visit.
I miss this place. When PCS first opened, it was SO good and SO friendly. It was the first place we thought of when friends came from out of town. Their cookie dessert was absolutely divine. Then the food quality declined. Then the menu kept changing. Then the staff started to seem annoyed when any customer walked in. I pass this place basically daily, and watched it draw in less and less people. Now it's "The Mill Room." Different name, same company. It looks like it completely lost it's soul. I'll be so happy if they bring back what made this place great, but can't say I'm expecting it.
Delicious, fresh food! We stopped in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the freshness of the salads we ordered. It was a slow Thursday afternoon and it would’ve been great if they offered WiFi (as of this review they do not) but we would gladly return as this is a very cute, well setup spot! We enjoyed all of the following: - Burrata Plate - Southwest Chop Salad (with Mahi Mahi) - Frisée & Arugula Salad (with Mahi Mahi)
The food is gourmet quality, and the menu options are very favorable to most peoples liking. All the food is noticably fresh and never frozen. Big kudos to the head bartender/mixologist. The cocktails are very well proportioned and spirit forward, which makes sense because all their base spirits are made in-house. The atmosphere is very relaxing and modern with a large game of connect four which is a great change from most games at restaurants. I highly recommend checking this place out, you won't be disappointed!
Made a reservation for 8 on Sunday morning at 11:45 and was seated 5 minutes early. We were served by Taylor and she did an amazing job. Our drinks and food came out promptly and were the perfect temperature. The French toast had a nice corn flake coating on it and was light, not too heavy or too sweet. The smoked pork hash with the fried egg was also nice and was a reasonably serving size. It was my brother-in-law's birthday so they brought us the complimentary pretzel bites with ice cream and a berry topping. Very tasty. Well definitely come again soon.
Stopped by here on a Saturday mid-afternoon (2:30-3:30) to check the place out. Wasn't very busy, perhaps around 30% of capacity at most. Was on my motorcycle so didn't drink that much, just sampled a bit of their bourbon. Ordered a half pound of brisket. Pretty tasty and moist. I've been to some places where the brisket was dry and that is not how brisket should be. This was pretty solid. Really liked the decor and atmosphere on the inside. Well-chosen music playing at a reasonable volume. Went outside for a bit but because it's along the main thoroughfare it was a little noisy from the traffic. So when going back again with friends, I'll recommend sitting inside. Definitely will not hesitate to come back here again.
