McGovern's Bar

Went to McGoverns due to the last time at Eddy's Sports Bar smelt like a urinal. Walked in tonight to McGoverns and the first thing we smelt was a urinal. Smelt like they mopped the bar with a dirty urinal mop. If it wasn't for the female bartender

The live band (Richmond Kings) was GREAT!!! The atmosphere was Irish American, inviting, and spacious. The bartender was friendly, fun, and attentive. They also have a pool table. Very cool place! I'll definitely be going back.

The owner is super nice, he made me a special drink. definitely recommended.

McGovern's Bar is a great place to hangout with friends. The drinks are reasonably priced. But the place could be cleaner. The tables are sticky and the beer pong cups are moldy. Atmosphere: Has a chill and inviting atmosphere. My friends and I usually play darts, pool, and beer pong. They have a foosball table as well. Drinks: They have a wide selection of beers on tap, and an okay selection of spirits and wines. The cocktails are bad though, so I would recommend sticking with the basics. They have a shot and free 24oz PBR beer deal. Service: The service at McGovern's Bar is friendly and attentive. The bartenders are always happy to make recommendations, and they are quick to get your drinks. Parking: There is street parking available, but it can be difficult to find in the afternoon (night time is not busy). There is also a parking garage located a few blocks away. I recommend it to anyone looking for a fun/affordable place to chill with friends.

Absolutely the worst. The worst service in San Francisco, we were asked to leave the bar completely sober as soon as we walked in, as we were ready to buy a few drinks. Ridiculous bouncer and bartender on a power trip. Do not go here

Bar has tons of character, half the patrons are regulars, makes for great crowd, the beer and spirit selection can't be beat in San Mateo.

Large area with many booths, tall bar tables and a pool table which was great. Easily accommodated a group of 15 and could have handled more. On the downside, while others liked their beers, the cocktails ($8) were affordable but not really good.
