I've been sailing SF Bay for 51yrs, and I love having Inspire Sailing for weekly charters. Over the years I've owned both sail and power boats, so I'm happy to spend my time sailing, letting them do the maintenance and fleet management. I get all the pleasure of sailing a selection of large boats without the headaches of ownership. The staff at Inspire are friendly and provide personalized service. Their instructors are sailing professionals. SF Bay provides some of the best sailing in the world.

Inspire Sailing is at the same location as OCSC but under new management and ownership. I chartered several times and always had a great experience. The staff is very helpful and pays attention to requests. Highly recommended! Give them a try if you want to learn how to sail or charter in the San Francisco Bay!

When OCSC closed, I toured all the sailing clubs in the SF bay area with my buddy and we created a spreadsheet to compare them. I just couldn't shake the feeling that OCSC felt like home, so I was hesitant to make a decision even with all the data in spreadsheet. I heard that a new club would take over the OCSC location with many of same people and it would be called Inspire Sailing. I am so happy that I was patient (procrastinated?), because Inspire is just a terrific club and it is really an improvement over OCSC. The people running the club and the instructors teaching the classes are terrific. The charter boats are well kept and I can easily reserve a charter. The cost is very reasonable, if not better than the other clubs in the SF bay. If you have any interest in sailing, then this is your 5-star choice!

I earned my US Sailing BBC certification while the club was under previous ownership (OCSC). I am happy that I joined Inspire Sailing and enjoy chartering Gold fleet boats. Their customer service is great and the fleet service team keeps the sailboats in very good condition!

I am an ex OCSC sailing club member. After a sailing hiatus of two years due to COVID restrictions, I finally made it back to the Berkeley marina. The new sailing club that took over from former OCSC is called Inspire Sailing, and I was initially anxious because OCSC are big shoes to fill. When I entered the office, though, I saw many familiar faces on the staff. It was a little bit like coming home. They helped me enroll in the US Sailing BBC course they were offering, which was a two-weekend course including night sailing. We were four students, and Cliff, our BBC instructor, guided us competently through all the aspects of sailing a 32 to a 40-foot sailing boat, including a hands-on understanding of engine trouble, water, electric systems, electronic piloting, etc. He kept the course fun and safe. After the second weekend, I felt empowered and ready. I am looking forward soon to chartering my first big boat sail at Inspire Sailing now.
