We had the pleasure of starting our Alaska cruise from Pier 66 in Seattle, and it was one of the most scenic embarkation experiences we’ve had. Located right in the heart of the waterfront, this terminal offers a panoramic view of downtown Seattle, the majestic Space Needle, and the glittering skyline — all visible from the upper decks of the ship while docked. The check-in and boarding process at Pier 66 was smooth and well-organized. The staff were helpful, and everything was clearly marked, making it easy even for first-time cruisers to find their way. Once onboard, we took some time to explore the top decks before sail away, and I couldn’t resist taking a few photos with my travel companion — a stylish cat-eared doll dressed for the occasion — with the city as our backdrop. The view facing the north shows the iconic Space Needle rising proudly among mid-rise apartment blocks and glass towers — a contrast that gives Seattle its unique charm. The view to the south offers a dazzling cityscape with sleek high-rises reflecting the light off Elliott Bay. And right below, you’ll see the historic Edgewater Hotel and the charming marina dotted with yachts and boats. This location is perfect for photography lovers, city explorers, and doll photographers alike! The atmosphere is a mix of cruise excitement, urban energy, and Pacific Northwest calmness — especially with the sound of seagulls and ferries passing by in the distance. If you’re cruising out of Seattle, I highly recommend arriving early to enjoy the sights from Pier 66 before departure. Whether you’re traveling with friends, family, or a tiny catgirl companion like mine, this spot captures the best of what Seattle has to offer. ✨
The pier itself is fine but the single lane traffic going in and out is a mess. Imagine 4,000 people leaving their cruise ship to the simulator 4,000 people trying to get on the ship around the same time. We found out it’s better to get pick up and drop off a block or two away if you can handle dragging your luggage to and from the ship.
Absolutely wonderful cruise. Everything was perfect. Thank you to each one of you for your hard work, making our trip memorable.
With the proper combination of parking conveniently located right across the street and a very short walk to the actual docking for the Norwegian bliss. This was an outstanding choice!
Excellent spot to soak in the city view or observe sunsets. 10/10 would recommend going 30 minutes before sunset
Don't believe what your hotel will tell you. Uber and other ride shares are able to drop you off directly at the port just like the bus that they will try to sell you.
We utilized the Norwegian Cruise Line portion of the pier and were pleasantly surprised. There is a luggage drop prior to entering the terminal that is quick and the handlers are smiling and professional. Inside, if you arrive at your scheduled port arrival time, check-in is fast and friendly. The waiting area has a lot of seating but can be crowded during the busiest arrival times (11:00am-1pm). For disabled persons, there is a special seating area for the entire party. Boarding is also fairly quick. We did not sit for very long before we boarded the ship. There are restrooms available.
