What a special place! I came to SaunaDay with high expectations and they were EXCEEDED! The space is absolutely beautiful and extremely well thought out. Parking is ample and check in was a breeze - the attendant was very clear with directions and knowledgeable about the experience. I changed and headed back to start my rounds. I’m a Nordic sauna girlie so the steam sauna was new for me! The mask & black soap was recommended to me by a friend & really elevated the experience. Of course I loved the dry saunas - there are two to choose from. A smaller silent Aspen sauna and a larger social cedar sauna. Both were well-kept, hot, and lovely. My favorite part had to be the cold plunge though. I had plenty of space to float around and focus on my breath and meditate. It’s a fantastic experience. I left feeling so refreshed and relaxed, I wish I could have returned the next day! Other commenters have noted slippery floors - I didn’t find this to be the case. Plenty of attendants were monitoring and wiping up behind guests. The saunas and cold plunge were absolutely spotless. I was really impressed by the operation and can’t wait to return. I’d recommend purchasing electrolytes which are available to guests or bringing your own - they are really key to staying hydrated between rounds and make a big difference vs water. Bravo to the team for building such a special space for the community!
My husband and I booked a private suite for our first wedding anniversary, and it was truly exquisite. The space is beautifully designed with super high-end finishes and is so thoughtfully planned down to every little detail. It’s clear a lot of care went into creating a serene and luxurious experience. One of the highlights for me was being able to adjust the temperatures in our private suite. I loved being able to bring up the plunge pool a few degrees since the main one in the bathhouse was a bit too cold for my liking. That kind of customization made it feel extra special and comfortable. If I were to make any suggestions, I’d love to see an option for shorter time frames in the suites, along with adding more hot soaks and including them as part of the main experience rather than as an upgrade. Maybe add a small sign reminding guests to limit their soak time so everyone gets a chance to enjoy. Overall, a phenomenal experience: elegant, peaceful, and perfectly suited for a special occasion or just some needed relaxation. We’ll absolutely be back.
I had a fantastic time at Saunaday. I left feeling so freshed. I have to admit I was nervous at first being in a public bathhouse but I was so comfortable by the end because this place is just serene. I'm very much an amateur when it comes to saunas and cold plunges but I became very acclimated after my time here. I love that it's a phone-free zone and everyone is so pleasant to be around. The staff are diligent as well. It's immaculately clean. The steam sauna was my favorite part. This is also a great gift to give someone who needs some relaxation. It's such a great spot to have in Madison. I can't wait to go back!
We had an overall great time. The facilities are very nice, and we enjoyed the hot soak that we added on. I do wish there were hot soak options on a 2 hour schedule vs 3 as the extra hour made the experience feel a little long. I didn't like being asked to tip at the end of our time, either. This is a premium experience and being asked to tip made me feel like I was I was at a coffee shop. If your employees need tips to make their wages livable, I'd rather you just make that into the price instead of being asked to up bill at the end.
I went with a few other gals and we had a really great time. Overall, the experience was very positive and the facilities were well kept. We were super disappointed that the cold plunge was closed but that was only the record-breaking temps fault. Here are some thoughts that would elevate this experience even more: - No one guided us through the process/expectations and we would have appreciated it. Just a quick walk through is all. - Warmer ambient temp...the space between all the areas was pretty chilly. -larger towels for bigger bodies -essential oils for steam room/saunas - A sign for the hot water. I burned my finger on the hot water coming out of the faucet to make tea...it was boiling hot and I was not ready for it. - Traditional Finnish sauna whisks We absolutely loved the snowballs, so fun! Thanks for keeping us warm on a really cold day!
I had the most incredible experience at Saunaday! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was calm, welcoming, and intentional. The facilities are top-notch: cedar salt-scrub showers, traditional Finnish saunas, steam room, cold-plunge pool, and cozy lounge areas make it feel like a modern wellness sanctuary. The self-guided ritual design was perfect, it meant I could move at my own pace, relax & recharge. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the complimentary towels, filtered water, clean locker rooms and thoughtful amenities made everything easy and comfortable. I walked out feeling cleansed, calm, and rejuvenated! If you’re looking for a place to unplug, rewind, and treat yourself to full-body + mind renewal, Saunaday is a gem. I’ll definitely be back and certainly recommending it to friends!
Clean and aesthetic space, smells nice too! Entirely single-stall changing rooms was nice for privacy and the all genders locker area and saunas were super inclusive! <3 There are areas to sit/lounge outside of the saunas and steam room in-between rounds too. The cold plunge was very refreshing. The only disappointment was that we went on new years day because we saw guests would get a scrub included - when we were checking out all the other guests checking in were being offered complimentary scrubs that we weren't given :/ but we also had a different staff member check us in than when we checked out, so understandable there can be inconsistency. My partner also thought the drinking water they provide tasted a little weird but you have the option to bring your own water bottles.
