I popped in for a wee drink whilst waiting for a friend. Bartenders were very lovely. Drinks were very good. Ambience was chill with lots of candles, low light, and low music. Just my vibe!

I had the best time here when I lived in New York, my friends threw me a surprise party here and it was the best birthday of my life. A must stop for anyone who wants to have a good drink, with a cool staff, and lovely atmosphere.

I KNOW… …that it’s my fault for drinking but I DO think that this business does have a responsibility to remind you of the consequences of your actions. I am writing this message the morning after going to Singers and I feel like I was rolled down a terrible hill in a hogshead. Don’t get me wrong, this place is the coolest. Red lights, candle lights, and lots of gay people. But one must keep in mind that they will not stop you from drinking. They WILL give you your drink. Interesting. But this is a good opportunity to thank all my readers for the great year and I hope that 2025 is full of excellent adventures for you all. THANKS

This is where the Gen Z gays of Brooklyn go to pretend they are better than Hells Kitchen twinks. They are in fact much worst. The lesbians were friendlier and I spoke with a nice woman named Diana whose girlfriend had ended things after coming out as bi. I told Diana to look around at all the other women in the bar. She agreed she had lots of options to pick from. I had none (Diana’s words not mine). Toward the end of the night her ex came in and it was everything. As for the bar itself. It’s giving not quite lived in dive bar and the amount and variety of spaces is impressive and kept it from getting boring. The staff looked like they wanted to go home at 9 pm on a Wednesday and nobody was busing the bar or running drinks to the crowded tables. This bar isn’t for me, though I’m not sure it wants to be. As a 30 something gay I’ll be at Animal where I belong (and where the men are nice to me). If you live nearby or are curious check it out, at least for the stories. If you see Diana say hi.

The staff and atmosphere could not make it more obvious that this bar is meant specifically for white men and no one else. Felt bad for the one bartender serving a crowd on a Friday night, then I saw him attending to every white guy who walked in the door or before bothering with the line of women patiently waiting for 20+ minutes to get a drink... Add in the vocal complaints about there being so many WNBA fans in the bar, even though signs indicating that the establishment decided to be part of the NY Liberty's official bar network are plastered everywhere, and you have a great place to go if you want to bask in the tradition of unabashed misogyny in queer spaces.

Honestly my favorite bar in Brooklyn- good for a low key drink with friends, date, or a wild night. It's really choose your own adventure. I always feel welcomed by the staff and get good, strong drinks for less than other similar places. Not just worth checking out but putting into your regular rotation!
