Our server Andrea was so sweet! My boyfriend and I were looking for a new spot and this restaurant/bar is so cozy and the food is SOOO good! he got the burger and i got the cajun pasta! highly recommend! service was very fast and portions are big enough for leftovers!
The restaurant provided an outstanding example of great service and excellent food. Guests were seated quickly in a clean and comfortable space. The menu included plenty of options to satisfy different cravings, and each dish exceeded expectations when served. The food was flavorful, fresh, and carefully presented. Staff members were attentive, polite, and always ready to help with a smile. Drinks were brought promptly, and requests were met without delay. The atmosphere was inviting and well-maintained, allowing everyone to enjoy their meals at a relaxed pace. It was a wonderful experience that made the restaurant a standout choice for dining.
My wife and I had a very tough week and we're escaping to the coast for a 24-hour respite. As we drove she searched for a place to enjoy a good steak and drinks without climbing beyond our budget. We weren't looking for intense romance and fine dress, nor did we want a biker bar. Frustrated by the search and running out of freeway, we asked a local friend for her recommendation. It came in minutes and she had only one name--The Alley, a "very old-guard restaurant...It is just a local place. Been there forever." We waited 5 minutes on a Friday at 6:45 (it packed out shortly thereafter) and got to the table. Drinks in hand, we started with a grilled artichoke and then enjoyed New York strips and orange dill-glazed salmon plates. The server smiled incessantly and seemed ever-present in a good way! Just what we needed. Unpretentious and comfortable, it was loud, but that was because people were having a great time. Give it a try!
I took my husband to this place for what I hoped would be a nice dinner on our last night in the Newport area. We were able to get a table with no issue but service was slow/spotty. A table of 6 seated after us all received their food and follow up attention from the server well before we did and we never did get a water refill until near the end of the meal. Our meals were pretty good, but the French onion soup tastes like it comes from a can. We ordered two and were only brought one because our server didn't hear the order correctly. I ate mine while my husband waited for his so it didn't get cold. That brings me to the most disappointing aspect of the evening. If your servers can't hear the orders from the patrons then it's too dang loud! The dining room is ringed on one side by a bar where about 20-25 people were all talking over each other to the point where they were drowning out all other conversation possible. Added to this is that the kitchen is open to the dining room as well so if you can try to talk over the drunks, then good luck with talking over the sound of dishes and silverware clanking constantly and people calling orders through the kitchen. We loved the overall decor of the place but by the time we finished our food we couldn't wait to get out of there because of the volume. I definitely wouldn't return.
Our favorite Local Hideaway. Excellent food, fun atmosphere, Terrific service, and fair prices. Our favorite weekend hostess Sierra Reese is always so bubbly and friendly! Easy and free parking. What more could you want?
I ordered the prime rib sandwich and honestly it was a big letdown. I was expecting a real sliced prime rib sandwich, but it ended up being just a French dip. The steak was bland with zero flavor. The bread was toasted nicely, but once it hit the plate the bottom got soggy and the whole sandwich fell apart. I had to add a ton of salt and pepper just to make it edible, and it still wasn’t right. If they actually served true sliced prime rib on bread, that would be awesome. I asked about prime rib, but was told it’s only available at dinner — which doesn’t make sense to me. If it’s in the kitchen, why not serve it? On the positive side, the steak and eggs were really good, and the service was solid. One more thing: the table I got sat at was the first booth right by the host stand, and it was terrible. There’s a pillar right there, super cramped, and every single person walking to the dining room has to pass by. Constant foot traffic, super inconvenient — honestly that table shouldn’t even be sat unless it’s absolutely the last option. I’d give this place another shot, but I’d stick to the steak and eggs and make sure to request a different table.
This place is quickly becoming a favorite spot! Great food, service, prices and a cool vibe. Last minute birthday breakfast for my hubby. We arrived shortly after 10am when they opened and the bar was packed. Probably a good thing because there ended up being 8 of us! Got a nice table in the back with room to grow if we needed it. $12 bottomless mimosas!?! Heck ya! Boys got blood marys and they were decent! I ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich but the Huevos rancheros that was on special caught everyone’s eye. Hubby wanted steak & eggs for his birthday so he was happy. Also tried the soup of the day which was cream of potato. It lacked a bit of flavor so we definitely loaded it with Tabasco. Our server, Ry, was awesome. Super friendly and personable. Definitely a local spot but we’re gonna squeeze ourselves into becoming frequent fliers here!
