The Bear Paw Inn has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 372 reviews on Google
One of the best dive bars in the city. Cozy, chill, unpretentious, classic, friendly. Has carpet, so it's relatively quiet and not industrial. Has good prices and surprisingly good food for a dive. Has plenty of different seating options and pool. Has wifi and plugs under the bar (and at some tables), even. Patio isn't much to write home about, but that's okay. A very home-away-from-home sort of place.
My friend’s partner and I stopped in this past Sunday evening around 8 p.m. after dinner for a couple of drinks in what we hoped would be a relaxed atmosphere. We had never been before but had heard positive things from friends. Unfortunately, our experience was far from that. Upon walking in, we weren’t greeted or acknowledged—instead, we were met with a dismissive and irritated attitude from the bartender. At first, we brushed it off, assuming she might be having a rough day. However, after checking our IDs, we spent less than a minute looking at the menu when she became hostile and condescending, barking at us to hurry up and order. Throughout the interaction, she continued with an aggressive, dismissive tone and even made snide remarks under her breath. As first-time visitors, we wanted to take a moment to look over the menu, but the attitude we received made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome—as though our presence was an inconvenience. We ended up leaving and going to another bar nearby, where we had a much more positive experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I wouldn’t recommend this establishment unless the service approach changes dramatically.
A pretty cool neighborhood style bar that has some outdoor seating and also billards and video poker in the inside. The drinks here are nice and stiff. The bar did menu looks decent and I would try it next time. I did find out that Jerry's Pizza is no longer operating there.
This bar has always had the potential to be one of the best dives in Portland... if it wasn't for the bartenders (at least most of them). There's a taller dude with glasses that bartends there, tried to fight me because he was drunk and picked on the wrong person. Dude was off the clock but I remember anytime I've been here, he looks miserable and gives bad service. Goes along with any of the guys that work there. I will give credit to the only lady bartender, she's an OG and does her job well. Otherwise, this place is pretty bad.
I love Nicole, Issac, and Alex. Best service best tequila choices, great Mexican food cooked on a grill!
This is my go to spot to pregame before a show at the Aladdin. An extensive tequila inventory, plenty of pool/pinball, and my favorite quesadilla in Portland. And affordable to boot!
This is a great little place to hangout for a few hours at. It sits on the corner of the block, making it easy to find. There’s no parking lot (that I saw) just on-street parking They have a variety of slot machines (5-6, with a variety of games as well) which is what my husband and I were after. We decided to try their fried Mac and cheese bites as well as their chicken strips. Both were made well, not greasy or burnt. Nothing real special about them besides the good quality and priced at a reasonable amount. They also have 2 pool tables and a handful of arcade games. There was one guy working the bar, he was quick and attentive. All around it was a good atmosphere to hangout in, and I would visit again.
