The Woods

The Old Lava Lounge is where The Woods is located. It’s a very comfy neighborhood bar with a minimalist updated 70’s Vibe. Lots of comfortable Booth seating and a conversation pit kind of area in the back by the large movie screen. There are games scattered around that you can play with your friends. Excellent Bartenders, nice drinks, fun place that’s Low Key. Good music selection kind of Adult Contemporary. We went for Trivia night which was a fun time. They don’t have food but you can bring some in, we ordered From Door Dash. It was a week night so there was a good amount of free parking in the lot. There’s also a parking lot security guard and an excellent Door man. A great experience all around.

Very beautiful, chill vibe. Good drinks and good service. Went early in the night so didn't get to fully enjoy the dark vibes as I'd like but it was over all extremely nice. Location is the only off setting part but all else is wonderful!!! Great music too

The guy in the entrance was being disrespectful and racist to my friends and I. Treating us like we were stupid. We had a really bad experience, I do not recommend going here.

Do not miss comedy night on Tuesdays. I was in Hollywood to attend the taping of the JK show and walked over to the Woods afterwards. Unbeknownst to me it was comedy night and it was a blast. I had this bar marked on my map because the interior design looked so interesting. Low lights, very comfortable, and the employees and customers were all cool. The best part is the nice lady who hosts the comedians. She is very funny in her own right. I don't think this bar has food but she had brought some homemade s'mores brownies to share with everyone. I felt like I had stumbled onto the coolest bar in Hollywood. Highly recommended.

Bouncer accused a Latin American friend of being from Venezuela when her ID was clearly from another Latin American country, and implied he "didn’t know what (she was) coming in to do", then turned to our white American friend asking her if she understood what he was trying to say.

My local watering hole, although its in Hollywood there's none of that uppity BS here. They have happy hour till 10! I have seen dancing here and a DJ on the weekends. Great first date spot (especially during happy hour ). Friendly doorman, bartenders and for a bar it's pretty clean. Don't expect anything too fancy, just get a shot and a drink and enjoy!

Loved this place I am definitely going back there when in the LA area. Awesome bartender and overall clean bar. Nice and descent crowd to socialize with, good promos and they also have a jukebox with a pretty descent music library, so you can go ahead and play your favorite records to make sure you're listening to what you like.
